Best of the Best Beaches

South Pacific

Golden sands, rugged coastlines, clear blue waters—this year’s winning beaches are traveller faves for everything from lazy beach days to underwater adventures.

The Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best title celebrates the highest level of excellence in travel. It’s awarded to those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period. Out of our 8 million listings, fewer than 1% achieve this milestone.

Manly Beach is at the centre of everything—literally. Just a quick ride from the Sydney CBD, it's surrounded by shops, cafes, and more. Go swimming or surfing in the warm waters (there's a netted area for swimming plus lifeguards on duty), or take a dip in the saltwater pool. Then, go for a stroll along the long beach walkway and take in the panoramic views.

We have just had a week staying opposite the Manly beach. A great spot for water activities, always people swimming, surfing, playing beach volley ball on the courts set up on the beach. Plenty of toilet and shower facilities. It is a lovely spot for a walk anytime of the day but especially in the morning when it can be very busy. The beach is well maintained and always looks clean. Beautifull Norfolk Pines line the walkway between the beach and road. All in all a beautiful spot to spend time

20 minutes Ferry trip from Sydney Harbour. Well worth the journey. Beautiful place when the sun shines, unfortunately it rained for us but the trip is worth it for the journey in and out of Sydney Harbour for the views of the bridge and the opera house.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Manly Beach. The white, soft sand and the warm water was just idyllic. It’s easily accessed from Sydney using the ferry. Perfect day!

I stayed here for three days. Despite some rainy weather, the town's atmosphere was still worth experiencing. On sunny days, the beach is stunning, with fewer tourists compared to Bondi Beach, making it much more relaxing!

Easy walk through the shops to Manly Beach. Very busy even on a cool day. Great paved Walkway above the beach. Handicap friendly. Volleyball courts. Surfers. Kids playing in the sand. Water fountains for washing off your feet and telling your bottle. It was a lovely visit. Stayed for about an hour watching the waves.

When you want to add a little adventure to your beach day, head to Cable Beach. Sure, you can relax on the white sand and dip in the sparkling, turquoise waters (it's a popular spot for swimming), but there's so much more to do: Ride a camel, go 4-wheel driving, or biking. At the end of the day, wind down with a walk along the shore, stop by a cafe, and catch the legendary sunset.
