Pretty setting spoilt by so much debris on the beach, we took photos but decided not to stay as it looked so dirty and to be honest there were lots of very loud groups - not for us sorry!

Scenic setting here - sandy beaches either side of the ruins. Quite nice, I suspect ordinaril,y but construction work on a nearby hotel made it somewhat noisy and dusty. I expect it will be good when this is over next year.
The basilica ruins are interesting - an information board would be helpful in various languages.

This is probably one of the best beaches on Kos. It is not as windy as the beaches on the north coast and the seas near Kefalos are much less choppy.

Access is well signed and there is an active construction site for the Club Med. One access road has a security guard shack; take the other road. There is plenty of parking once you reach the end and is marked by a sign indicating the ancient basilica.

The best part of this beach is west of the basilica; the eastern section is more rocky. The western section is sandy beach except for a bit of pebbles just as you enter the water but is sandy again as you go deeper.

There are umbrellas and sunbeds available for 7€ for the day. A food van nearby sells drinks and snacks for quite cheap.

What makes this beach all the more beautiful is photogenic Kastri islet with its church in the middle of the bay. If you're a good swimmer, you can swim to islet climb up to the church and ring the bell. You can still make it to the islet by hiring a peddle boat.

The ancient ruins nearby add to the beauty of the beach and can easily be visited while enjoying the beach. The beach can easily be reached by car and is only 40 minutes from Kos Town. Coming here is well worth the day trip from Kos Town

Unfortunately for I guess the whole of 2018 the ‘club med’ formerly abandonded massive hotel build is now back on. From 0700hrs till sunset there is building noise, vehicle reversing alarms, diggers, concrete pumps and mixers running constantly which is spoiling the tranquility of this beach and surrounding areas. There are lots of other nearby beaches to use.
