How do you review something which was so amazing from start to finish. We stayed in TreeTops (the tented camp)....although we are talking serious glamping! Totally luxury and ultimate spoiling! The staff, led by the lovely Rene, were exceptionally nice, professional, attentive and great fun. The food was out of this world and endless. Luckily we were only staying 2 days or we might have had to be wheeled out! And of course the safari was so so special. I never thought I would get so excited to see a giraffe or an elephant in the wild but it is incredible to see them in their own habitat. Richardt was our Ranger. He was such fun, so knowledgeable and we had a great time from dawn til dusk. Even learning about the flora and smaller creatures was totally fascinating - be sure to get involved and ask lots of questions. We were a family of 4 aged 19-53 and each of us voted this as the highest point of our 10 day trip. We were so sad to leave and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Room Tip: There are only about 6 rooms and all are amazing but my favourite would be room 5 above the pool

Stayed for 3 nights at the treetops lodge and had a wonderful time. The service was impecabale, the food great (and be prepared to eat A LOT)
Peter the ranger was fun and very informative, with lots of interesting stories. We managed to see 4 of the big five (missed the leopard) in addition to flocks of girrafes and many pther animals. Highly recomended!!

This was our second stay at Lalibela, having previously stayed there in November 2015. We stayed in Tree Tops both times. Both trips were extremely enjoyable, with friendly, knowledgeable staff, delicious food and thoughtful details. Our ranger this time, Sarah, was a particular highlight with an obvious passion for the animals and an extensive knowledge of animal behaviour that really helped us to appreciate the animals better. We saw a wide variety of animals during our four night stay: cheetah, elephant, lions, warthog, giraffe, buffalo, wildebeest, many varieties of antelope, birds, tortoises, zebra, vervet monkeys and rhino. The staff were always attentive and our lodge's manager, René, was great. Everything stayed comfortable even when we had a power outage following a lightning storm.

The most enjoyable thing for us as return visitors was seeing how much the conservation efforts on the reserve have improved under the reserve's new ownership (it changed hands in 2016). The removal of the invasive Black Wattle trees had already made a significant improvement to the reserve and this program was proceeding at speed, making much more native grassland available.

Tip: you don't need to stay four nights (although if you can, we recommend it!), but we highly recommend staying more than one night. Which animals you see will depend on which animals the rangers manage to find during the game drives (it's a reserve, not a zoo). During our stay, it took us three attempts to find the buffalo. Staying two nights already gives you four game drives instead of two, making for a much better chance you'll see the animals you want to see.

This was the first game drive for my sons of 9yrs and 14yrs- it was fantastic , the reserve and animals were amazing. I know Lalibela had bad press but has since changed hands and is fantastic.
The rooms, staff and food were all great and the reserve and safari drives were amazing.
Nothing was to much trouble
Thank you
Sue

It was an awesome kid friendly trip. Great food with extra generous care of a child with allergies. Game sightings were top notch with attention to detail. Who knew termites tasted minty and four giraffe could chase a lioness
