This is a lovely place to stay if you want to view game. The rangers are knowledgeable and they all work well together.

The food is plentiful and the wine is recommended - G&Ts not too bad either.

We met friends from all over the world, some of which have already came to visit.

A good location for overseas visitors that want to cram as much sights in as possible.

This was our first safari and it did not disappoint. We booked this holiday very late and therefore struggled to find availability for a safari. We were not sure what to expect at Lalibela but we were certainly very impressed with the reserve. Our ranger Ryan was absolutely brilliant, he had a brilliant eye so much so that he even managed to spot two young male lions that we were looking for in the dark on our evening drive. We saw 4 of the big 5 so were pretty happy with that. If you are hoping to see a leopard this is probably not the reserve for you as one has only been seen once in the last 5 years. We would have given this review 5 apart from the fact that the lodges need some investment as they were a bit tired. That said they were clean and comfortable. The food and drink was good and plentiful and the staff could not do enough for you. Apparently the reserve was taken over by new owners approx 7 months ago and they have big plans to invest and improve Lalibela which is great to hear as it is a beautiful place with huge potential.

What a trip! We were a large group of 9 and Lalibela (specifically Jean Marie and her team) couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Nothing was too much and we felt entirely at home for our 2 night stay. We stayed at the Lentaba Lodge which was set up on a hill overlooking a watering hole - beautiful location. Rooms are individual thatched lodges with ensuites and private decks overlooking the bush and pathways elephants occasionally use. There are only 8 rooms in total so everything feels very personal and intimate - not overcrowded at all. Everything was very clean and there were some lovely touches such as a turn down service in the evening and traditional african stories placed on our pillows to read when we returned from our evening game drives. We had 2 drives a day and saw a huge variety of animals up close - incl. lion, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, various antelope, rhino, zebra, hippo, loads of birds, warthog, even a caracal making a kill! The reserve itself is huge so plenty to see even if the animals are hiding! Our ranger Craig was superb - so knowledgeable about everything from trees/plants to animals to birds and did an amazing job tracking animal prints to make sure we saw as much of what Lalibela has to offer as possible. Thank you Craig - our drives really were spectacular. The food was delicious, such a variety (incl. local specialities) and so much of it! We had a couple of special diets in our group and Lentaba accommodated them perfectly (even one that we hadn't advised of in advance - thank you). It was also a special birthday for my mum while we there so to celebrate Jean Marie arranged a surprise birthday cake and African dancers for some wonderful evening entertainment. We also enjoyed some champagne as a sundowner on our evening drive that day - amazing! On our last day we had to leave straight after our morning drive in order to catch our flight home meaning we were missing breakfast, but Lalibela arranged packed brunches for us all to take away with us on our trip back to the airport so we didn't go hungry. We could not recommend Lalibela highly enough, definitely a holiday that will go down in our family's history books!

What a wonderful place.
I'm getting on in years and this was a "bucket list" trip, but I remember being as excited as a seven year old on arrival. Well to be honest, I was skipping up to our room in the "Tree Tops" lodge.
My wife and I had already had a most wonderful trip across lots of South Africa and we expected this to be the icing on the cake. It lived up to every expectation, and beyond.
We were there in October 2016 so the memory for names is not good but I must say all the staff were so caring and helpful, and good fun.
Our Ranger was Peter. An amazing character, full of knowledge from termites and grasses, snakes, through bird life, primates and everything on four legs, (and their poo!!). Our twice daily drives with him were spectacular. His enthusiasm was so infectious. Even those periods in the absence of wildlife, the scenery was stunning.
Back at Tree Tops the meals were thoughtfully varied, all substantial and very well prepared. Absolutely delicious. They catered perfectly for my wife's required gluten free diet.
The guy taking care of the bar was great. Very interesting to talk to. We spent a few hours chatting about his experiences and way of life. I wished we had longer to talk over a late evening drink. If you go there you must hear him explain some of the social aspects of his upbringing.
Of course, we saw almost everything on the game drives, up close and personal. Breathtaking.
I still haven't identified what good I had done earlier in my life to deserve to have been here.
