We stayed one night on the Campsite. No other guests. Everything was fine but not all campsites were clean. There was some rubbish left at Braai Areas. And no Water at the Taps on the campsites. But Ablution was very clean and tidy. Nice hot showers. Rand 170 per person and night is too much, sorry. Although the location is pretty cool...

Hello, we are very sorry about the cleanicess of some of the sites and sorted that instantly, as that should not ever be the case.

Friendly and helpful staff. Awesome location, especially at the cottages.
Despite some temporary loss of electricity at the cottage due to a storm, which was sorted at no time, it was a very pleasant stay.

I have to agree with a previous reviewer - the noise from across the dam made for a sleepless night. Such a pity since the lodge was in a pleasant location to explore the area. We decided to check out a night early so that we could catch up with some sleep. The rooms are sparsely furnished but that's to be expected considering it was a budget hotel. Food in the restaurant was reasonable and the cappuccino was great!

We are so sorry about the noise from the neighbouring public site at the dam. Unfortunately it was the festive season and the public section of the dam (not Maguga Lodge) was being used by some rowdy people.

Nice area, great for relaxation. Staff members were friendly, food is decent, very safe area, parking though was a bit far, boiling hot temperature during summer, it would be also great if they could provide mosquito repellent in each room

It was a hot festive season! Thank you for the idea of mosquito repellent, we will look into that, and/or mosquito nets.

We enjoyed our stay at Maguga overall, but found the noise levels from across the dam extremely unpleasant. Another establishment partied LOUDLY throughout the Saturday night which much shouting and loud music, until around 6:30am. When we spoke to the reception manager she told is this is becoming the norm and despite them speaking to the other restaurant owners the noise continues every weekend. Its a pity because overall the lodge is comfortable and has a beautiful setting above the dam.

Happy you enjoyed your stay but very sorry about the noise from the neighbouring public site at the dam. Unfortunately it was building up to the festive season and the public section of the dam (not Maguga Lodge) was being used by some rowdy people - however it's not the case of every weekend - but still something we need to negotiate further with Kobwa, the company monitoring the dam.
