Well I was a bit surprised by the Dante inspired sign but food wise the greeting is correct.
For the lover of San Daniele ham (a little bit saltier than Parma ham) there are few better places than Bagatto.
Founded in 1961 they offer their own cured ham, a wide selection of cheese and some local wines. Salame, Speck and other cured hams are also sold.
The quality is outstanding.
The slices are paper thin.
They also offer vacuum packed sealed trays of 5 to 10 slices which will last for weeks until opened.
Mozzarella from Friuli has a different taste from the mozzarella from Campania or Puglie.
Most definitely worth the visit.
We also had lunch there eating prociutto (what else??), some different cheeses and prosecco.
Truly excellent and worth going back to again.
