Excellent 5 point ratings should be given sparingly with much thought. But even then there are restaurants, attractions or even hotels that go beyond that excellent level. For these objects a 6 point rating should be available. Restaurant Al Boschetto in
San Daniele is that kind of restaurant.
They shall never earn a Michelin star, but this unassuming, family run restaurant, on the outskirts of San Daniele, serves excellent Italian food, with impeccable service, and a modest bill. The menu consists of a fixed part, offering the three courses of the Italian menu, but there is always a hand written supplement, offering surprising dishes, based on seasonly available fresh produce. Yes, Al Boschetto surpasses the 5 point level. And the restaurant gets a thumping endorsement of the local folks by flocking to the restaurant every day, except on Wednesday evening and Thursday, when the "mother of the house" and her family enjoy the well earned weekly rest.
