First time in Greece. Very impressed. What a beautiful place Fiskardo is... The Hotel Emelisse is an easy 10 minutes walk away. If you are staying for a week there is enough to do locally so avoid expensive and easy to damage hire cars. Yes the pools are cool, but maybe that keeps non swimmers out and all the better for those that like to do a few lengths. The rope up the cliff is another must do after swimming round from the rocks. Great local beaches with forest walks to access some of the remote ones. Amazing boat trips. Fabulous breakfast on the upstairs balconies at the hotel. A very big selection of restaurants and a super cocktail bar in Fiskardo and a back to school feeling of catching the bus back up to the resort after dark.
What a fabulous 7 days I have spent at this hotel with a friend. This was my first visit, having travelled I have got to say this is a beautiful location and most staff were were very kind and helpful. The food was good a varied lunch time menu. I feel that the evening menu could have more choice as we would have liked to spend more evenings relaxing in the restaurant with a Gin and Tonic and making the most of the ombieoynce and feeling the well being after a beautiful day.
I was so impressed with the Spa treatments that I received from sotiris . He is very professional with his approach and his English was so good and made the treatments special,a real gem for your hotel My friend felt that the young lady who treated her could not speak any English and felt the massage was nothing special and becouse of the lack of English when enquiring about other treatments she didn't understand and didn't embrace the opertunity to promote the treatments you offer which is a real missed opertunity.
Overall we had a majical stay and hope to return.
The staff and general ambiance of the place are lovely, and lunch was very good. And I also got a massage which was amazing. I was disappointed though that there was not even a hot tub, sauna, or indoor shower area here. There are only two cold pools. A nice place but it did not feel like much of a spa experience.
Absolutely loved our stay here. This is undoubtedly one of the finest places to stay in Kefalonis, and indeed seems to make it into various "best if Greece" lists too. Totally absurd that it is listed as 3rd best in Fiscado, particularly as we stayed in the Melmar View at the start of our holidays and while it's a decent, small, mid range hotel this is in a different league. Fantastic staff, as others have said, great rooms, 3 fabulous pools with plenty of loungers, brilliant breakfasts, and a glorious location next to one of the nicest beaches in north kefalonia, with private rocky pools directly below and Fiscado a sub 10 minute jaunt. The lunch menu was splendid. And while it's pricey it didn't feel overpriced at all.
Less good things? Kids meals limited to just (v tasty) nuggets and chips and pasta - ok for a day or two but not for longer; would be easy to supplement with eg chicken and rice etc. Supper menu less Greek than lunch and heavy on international meals eg risotto; less good value than lunch too. The rooms with pool aren't always that private which slightly defeats the point of them. And the resort accommodation - while wonderfully hidden behind trees so as not to dominate the nearby beach (something eg Mallorcan authorities could learn from!) - isn't the most attractively designed externally - indeed the Spanish holiday home look in the photos almost put us off booking. But don't be deceived - this is a truly wonderful hotel and you will have an amazing time whether you are a couple, family, solo travellers or group of friends.
Excellent hospitality, very friendly stuff, extremely helpful managers. The hotel was really clean with nice shared spaces. There was a wide range of excellent food and the landscapes were breathtaking. 10/10 experience, I definitely recommend it.
