We traveled the second week of December with the only expectation of spending quality and quiet time with one another, looking to recharge after a very busy work season. Zoetry did not disappoint. We were there for seven days and could have easily stayed longer if our finances had allowed. Although they had just rebranded as a Zoetry, my wife LOVES Zoetry and was looking forward to visiting St. Lucia.
From the moment we arrived, they were on it! Kamar, whom we had been communicating with while booking our arrangements, met us upon arrival and the connection was instant! We felt as though we had known one another for years. He was very accommodating and attentive to detain, continuing what he had already established via email. The gentleman, whose name escapes me, took our bags and away they went. After checking in, Kamar took us to the sushi spot on the pool, and although they were moments from closing, they prepared a meal for us as we were very hungry. We traveled close to 11 hours, crossing two time zones. We purposely leave in the wee hours for two reasons: we want to arrive during the daylight and wish to enjoy a portion of our first day instead of chalking it up to a travel day only. It also allows us to acquire our bearings regarding the resort so that we can hit the ground running the following day.
At some point, either that day or the following, we had the pleasure of meeting Kadi-Ann and Chester, our concierges for the duration of our stay. Following Kamar's lead, they were ROCK STARS! When I say they went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed, I mean it. This is not an understatement. I connected with them via WhatsApp and communicated with them the entire time. We discussed a variety of things we wanted to experience on the island, and armed with that information, they created an itinerary and also set up transportation. All we had to do was show up and breathe (Kamar line)! They were a complete pleasure to interact with throughout our stay.
While there, we purchased one excursion - the Soufriere tour. We traveled to our location via a catamaran, thanks to an audible called by Kadi-Ann and Chester, as we were initially going to travel via a cab. This was an awesome alternative. The ride on the Caribbean Sea was intoxicating and gorgeous! Drinks were flowing (of course because, why not) and the views were breathtaking. We greatly appreciated this alternative mode of travel. We toured and experienced the waterfall and took a mud bath (pics coming). Additionally, we enjoyed a prepared lunch of the local fare and afterwards, headed back to the resort.
Now, the resort. It was rebranded and had just opened in December. As such, while some are interested in properties already established, we were interested in the rebrand reopening. Was everything perfect? No. Many times, restaurant service was very slow, but this was not a deal breaker. Juan, the Executive Chef, had already identified that as an area of needed improvement. Just to be clear, Juan was great as well. Very attentive, always greeting us when he saw us about the resort and checking on our service. This was on full display when my wife and I had purchased a romantic dinner for two. She ordered the lobster as her entree, and Chester, after checking to confirm they had lobster available, secured our dinner. Upon arrival, we were informed that they had no lobster. Chester was furious and apologized repeatedly. While we're not sure what happened at that point, after appetizers and drinks, the lobster was presented as her entree. When we inquired as to how they made it happen, Juan simply told us, "you ordered lobster, and we assured you we had it. We had to make it happen." We appreciated that special attention to detail by Juan and also Chester.
Food quality was great. No real complaints. As a lover of sushi, I had it everyday for lunch at the pool. Alvin and the chipmunks, Ashelle, Sunshine, and Wendy were excellent. Drinks and entrees were perfect and plentiful. Again, pics will be coming. Selections for breakfast, dinner, and snack food (burgers, pizza, etc.) were good. You definitely had a variety of choices, enough such that you never had to have the same things twice.
Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the many individuals that played a part in our amazing and satisfying stay: Zena, the Warrior Princess, Gemma (Go Jammer), Kerissa, Dayne, Michael (thank you for the copper bracelet; still wearing it), Desney, Andre, Mariah, Chenell, Dionne, Dave, and Brenda. Our week would not have been the week it was if it were not for EACH and EVERY ONE of you! Each of you performed a role that left us desiring more. I'm sure I have omitted someone that deserves equal credit and recognition, but PLEASE charge it to my head and not my heat. We did our best to personalize our stay with each of you, and you reciprocated in kind. Make no mistake, we appreciate everyone of you who chose to connect with us, so much so that we're planning on revisiting to view and experience the many improvements you all spoke of.
Because of this experience, we made the decision to upgrade our UVC Preferred Lifestyle membership to Diamond. We have other Zoetry's to experience.
