Visited Phillip Island with friends on grand final weekend.
Weather was lovely.
We enjoyed feeding the Penguins but thought it was very expensive, if the money goes towards the upkeep then that's ok I guess. We had to book in advance and very nearly missed out. So get in early if you plan to do this.

Went on a freezing September evening - so wrap up warm! Well organised, guides helpful. Great to see the little penguins dip in and out of the tides before deciding to roost for the night!!!!! Walking back to the info centre you can see them quite close up as the scuttle along.

The penguins have been coming ashore at Phillip Island for a long time; I first saw them over 50 years ago. Visitors are intrigued by their solemn dignity. Please, please don't photograph them. You get nothing on your camera and the flash will ruin their vision. The penguins aren't all that dumb; if people persist in using flashes, they will move to a place where they can't be seen. The Park has a whole range of other animals, including fur seals. You will also see short-tailed shearwaters, better known as mutton birds. They breed over the warmer months then return to the Arctic for the northern summer. If you see a snake, leave it alone. It's unlike to attack unless it's provoked.

Bunyip tours a good company to be used for a small groups visit day tour. The driver Phil is excellent.

We paid for the Penguins Plus package, and were rapt with the location, the seating & the view. The fairy penguins start coming out of the sea when darkness falls (to prevent being seen/eaten by predators), and they just keep coming. Quite fascinating.
We found the road back to Melbourne via Cranbourne was quicker.

Dear Lajj68
Thank you for your review and feedback of your recent visit to the Penguin Parade, and I'm pleased you had such an enjoyable experience.
It is great to see them emerge from the water's edge and make their way to their burrows.
Thanks again and we hope to welcome you back to the island in the future.
Kind regards
