Very typical, visited one visited all, but it has its own touch. You can start from the Esplanade and end up at the port on the other side, with its many adjacent streets. Nice little shops, souvenir ones too, cafes bars and restaurants along, some of the best in the island.
Could be done in a couple of hours, stretched to half a day and then you have seen it all.

Always amazing place to visit. Picturesque, old buildings, churches, nice restaurants, cafeterias, alleys, nice colors, nice people!

We stayed in Corfu 8/6/18 to 23/8/18 not in Corfu town but 30 km away . We have holidayed there for the last 14 years and have visited Corfu town many times , but this year it has been a sad reflection that I feel I have to write this review....
The old town , the citadel clean and tidy as per usual and people eager to charge you an arm and a leg for everything and I mean everything , 69 Euros for a meal for 4 people , 1 coarse , 1 drink, meal inedible, service rude and abrupt and scoffed at when asked if we were English, .... but on many occasions prior visits take that with a pinch of salt.
The point that upset me the most was outside the tourist area a matter of yards the rubbish piled up on the side of the roads , the famous cricket pitch huge amounts of rubbish piled up at its side , flies landing on you more than usual a lot more , we all know Greece has had problems over the last few years but how come the citadel is so clean and pristine and the rest of Corfu looks like a landfill site , UNESCO heritage site the citadel is , the rest is an urban tip .The Greek populace do not deserve this as a day to day existence I feel for them, but anyone who has not been there before and sees that as a first time experience is not going to come back , people like me , all be the fact I am English what ever difference that makes to some people in the citadel are not going to go to Corfu town and spend money there, maybe leave it to other nationalities who they cater for or like better .
My warning for other travellers from Britain be prepared for a contradiction in standards, an assault on your senses, smell and vision, finally an assault on your wallet , check what your buying when you sit down for a meal do not be lured into restaurants read the menu ,

The Old Town of Corfu is really worth wondering around. There is a fab car park opposite old port & next to New Fortress €3 for the day, need to arrive in the morning to secure a space. While twisting and turning through the narrow streets, look at the buildings some of which date back to Venetian times. Look for hidden squares with little taverna's. Walking along the promenade gives good views of old part of town & old fortress, there some cafés tucked away from road. Enjoy!
