I had previously stayed her 3 year ago when it was self catering was so good we returned again.

Just home from 2 weeks and must say had the best time, met a really nice family too. The food was good for all inclusive everyone found something to eat everyday.

The hotel is very clean rooms cleaned regularly beds changed and towels changed, every morning you would find the cleaners around the pool cleaning for the day ahead.

The life guard was exceptionally good, always alert very friendly and cared about all guests.

I must admit the last time I visited when Thomson done the entertainment it was much better, but Patricia and David did a great job.

Once again excellent holiday well done to all staff at villa Mandi for making it such a good family holiday for us.

Oh and one last thing best part......... the chips at meal times the were wonderful don’t know how you cook them but brilliant.

Just back from a fantastic week at Villa Mandi. Make no mistake, this is a family hotel. Although fairly small compared to some, there is lots of kids.

The hotel is set up like a traditional canarian village. Rooms are large, with kitchen area and nice big balcony area and large bathroom. The public areas are clean, sheek and modern. There is a large TV in the room, for an extra €2 a day you can upgrade the TV to get about 8 UK stations including BBC and ITV.

There is 2 pools, a main pool and a smaller one up by the pool bar. Both heated and were almost warm. Plenty of sunbeds. Never struggled for a sunbed. At all points of the day there was plenty beds available. The lifeguards are excellent and really look out for the kids.

The food was excellent. Several choices at all meal times. Always hot and tasty. Or the chef has about 5 options each meal at the hot plate where he will cook fresh in front of you. We never left the restaurant hungry.

The staff were all friendly. Patricia on the animation team is fantastic. Full of fun and amazing with the kids at the disco at night. The evening shows are usual standard but the kids love them. All inclusive is great. Dorada beer, main spirits, honey rum, and a few cocktails. Slush and tubs of ice cream for the kids.

There is a free bus to Siam Park everyday at 0930 am picks you up at 1630. Access to Siam is free and unlimited too.

It's about 20 mins walk to Las Americas which is fantastic and we got a taxi home every night. Never cost more than €4.70 and takes 5 mins.

Never paid the extra for upgraded Wifi as the standard was fine.

All in all we had a wonderful week.. I've tried had to find any negatives, only found 2

1. Beds are not too comfy
2. An ice cream machine in the restaurant for the kids at night would have been fantastic.

It may start to get a bit more busy as the season gets into full swing. But please ignore the poor reviews. This place is great for what you pay. If you want 5☆ luxury, then pay 5☆ prices.

Room tip: Try and get a room away from the main pool. Much more quiet.

The good...
For the hotel overall, I would agree with Jo Wardle's positives especially in relation to layout, loungers, swimming pool, food and staff. However, the bad...
The two rooms our party of 8 were allocated (115 & 116)left a lot to be desired. They were close to everything (being next to the lounge bar and overlooking pool tables and baby pool) but this meant no privacy. I think the rooms had been unoccupied for a long time as both smelt musty. In room 115, the water ran brown from all taps for a day before clearing. The sofa bed was hellishly uncomfortable and would collapse if you sat on the end of the bed as it didn't seem to have anything to lock it in place. The TV would turn itself off after approximately 30 minutes even if you were listening to radio. The hotel staff insisted this was because we were trying to watch the "pay for" channels but if we inadvertently switched to one of these, the TV turned off instantly.
In room 116, the electrics went out multiple times; the first was triggered by a short in the hair drier which they disconnected to no avail.
In both rooms the air-con was ineffective despite being set to the lowest temperature and highest fan setting. We were assured that there was nothing wrong with it. We finally discovered for ourselves on day 3 that it was on the winter heat setting not the summer frost setting (the knobs had been broken off so this setting wasn't visibly obvious)
Lots of annoying niggles too. The children could only go to kids club for one session a day rather than do two one day and miss a couple of days depending on activities. The staff wouldn't let us take food and drink out the restaurant for our 6 year old granddaughter who was poorly one night. The cleaners would turn off the electricity by taking out the room card which was annoying if you had left things charging...
Our week's stay cost £4800 and even though there were 8 of us, I am not sure we got what we paid for. Certainly, if we had paid the £7300 quoted by First Choice to go this week when schools are breaking up, I would have felt cheated!
Ultimately though, our four grandchildren appeared to have a fantastic time at Villa Mandi and that is what is most important!

Just back from the Villa Mandi. Interesting to read the mixed reviews. Here’s our thoughts:
1. Nice layout of hotel and not too big. Like a little village.
2. Our room was not an expensive one when booking but it was spacious and clean. Loved the large bathroom. Ours overlooked the play area and garden which meant low noise compared to those by the pool I imagine.
3. Sunbeds! Lots of them and no crazy games of laying towels at ungodly hours. There were signs out saying not to use claim any until 9am and this was generally respected. There were always some free anyway.
4. Siam Park free entry - booked with TUI so not sure if this is specific to them or the hotel. But great value and there’s a shuttle bus from the hotel too.
5. On site supermarket - yes, not as cheap as the large mercadona down the road but handy.
6. Food - on the whole ok. Breakfast in particular was good. What helped was the show-cooking where you could get freshly grilled meats and fish. Some days the choice felt limited but it was generally good quality.
7. Staff - from arriving and checking in, to daily service, we found all the staff very pleasant and helpful. The entertainment duo worked so hard and made it fun even if you just watched and didn’t take part.

Only real downside I would say is the lack of an outdoor seating area for the evening. There are a few tables and there are some nice sofas inside but it felt dispersed. Coupled with it being relatively far away from the main area of Los Cristianos.

Food was excellent but a Bit disappointed on the whole. Entertainment was poor and only one member of staff at any one time behind an all inclusive bar !! Snacks between meals were non existent which was a bit of a problem if you missed lunch. Rooms were very, very, very noisy so much that you could here the conversations of the guests either side and above. Did not have much sleep during our week away.
