Ok- where to start- you can't always have everything right when you travel - so you definitely need to do some compromises....but... if you like calmer places, don't go!!!!! this is a family with smaller children oriented hotel- so beware!!!! Beach area is close, which is a biggest plus of this resort, the sea is nice, but it's sooooo crowded....also restaurant is extremely crowded and noisy....it's all inclusive resort - but in a very soft Italian style- so if you are used to Caribbean and Turkish all incl. don't be surprised it doesn't climb the standard of all incl....... it's definitely better to travel in September or June- it can be cold and windy if you have a bad luck - so it's a bit risky- but not that crowded.... it's better to rent something for yourself, close to the beach and enjoy good restaurants.....If you have smaller children this could be nightmare- so you have to pick up what is suitable for you.... food in Baia dei Pini was under average- like a bad school canteen....that's minus...plus is that you won't gain weight.....:} Restaurant was so crowded that many times happened that waitresses had lost their balance of plates they were holding and the plates or glasses ended on the floor.....no wonder- since so many kids were running around and tables were packed so tightly to each other- that it was sometimes impossible to pass through without an accident...I suppose they are not respecting any norms, how many meteres there should be for each guest...:{:{....that's how my daughter's foot became cut- she was bleeding badly and couldn't swim for the rest of the trip...as an apology we received mild excuse from reception, but that was about it....these things happen....we were told...well, you are little bit shaken after such an experience, so you need to calm your child first and then yourself. We spoke to the travel agency consultant, but the only procedure would be to go downtown to a lokal doctor, who would issue an insurance paper. We didn't feel like stressing ourselves more plus we saw this Italian care free approach- with doubtful result so we decided not to bother ourselves with organizing transport to the doctor and so on.........Other thing, which is quite inconvenient is the thing, that there is a huge problem to get downtown- literarily there are NO taxis to get you downtown- you need to walk about 3,4 km's besided the street- not very pleasant walk- impossible to go with kids if they are not in their trollies...also you have huge problem to take Taxi from Budoni town back to resort. We called taxi service which was listed on info papers but they never showed up...then we talked to the lokal waiter who agreed to drive us back to resort -for 10 euros- the car was about to collapse, but it was better then to walk back at midnight with tired kids....
Rooms- you can hear everything through the walls and doors, so if you have noisy neighbours- and you will- you are in Italy:}- and most of the guests are Italian, you will hear them.... there were phones at the rooms but didn't work and some other thing that wouldn;t work too....closets were little bit dusty and dirty, but I could live with that....There are nice tennis courts and resort has many green plants, so its quite pleasant. The grounds are well kept and there are beautiful oleanders and flowers everywhere....Main pool is nice and also baby area is very well kept. Evening entertainment is only in Italian:{:{ ..So, all for all- I would say, choose some other place to go:}:}
