Outside tables occupy entire pavement and all appeared reserved but space for 3 of us was easily found. Inside almost deserted. Menus a little scruffy but extensive and in English. All main dishes very nicely presented and served, fish expertly fileted at the table. Truffle menu - plain pasta followed by filet steak - particularly delicious, generous with the black truffles shaved at the table directly onto food, as if it were parmesan. Interesting to taste the truffle clearly with the pasta, but with the steak the truffle taste is much less obvious bringing huge depth and richness to meat flavour. Opposite Hotel Park Regina where there is no dinner at that time of year: recommend booking to ensure outside table.

This place was our 'local' while in the area, so much so that we visited 3 times.

Staff are friendly and efficient and speak good english.

All the food we had was delicious. The wild boar papardelle is yum, as was the spaghetti in tomato sauce. I had the fillet steak with mushrooms which was perfectly cooked and really tasty. If seafood lovers, try the penne with lobster, shrimp and prawns - messy but worth it.
I took a sneaky bite of a few pizzas along the way, and they were good too.

Really well priced too. On average 10€ a head for lunch and €30 for dinner.

Very nice, typical traditional restaurant to look at with a few outside tables. Excellent value lunches and not too expensive for dinner. Had 2 fabulous meals there so far and wonderful to see seafood on the menu. My king prawn and zucchini pasta alone was worth going back for. The staff were lovely and the proprietor very pleasant indeed. I was shocked to read a previous review that suggested otherwise. We shall certainly be returning regularly over the summer.

We were on the way to the airport in Pisa when our kids decided it was time for lunch. Luckily, we were just passing Bagni di Lucca, and Del Sonno seemed like the ideal place. Great fresh pizza – with a huge range of options – was absolutely what we needed. Friendly service and a nice table in the sun were bonuses.

Del Sonno has been a restuarant for many years and always feel like a special experience. An old building, well decorated, starched tablecloths etc. A proper restaurant. There is a pizza oven in a separate room and the pizzas, of course, are great. However, we can't resist the steak in green pepper sauce, always first class.
