Good beach hotel

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 12 Dec 2023
Good hotel located on beach. Verygood breakfast with a chef making omelettes etc. Beachbeds have matresses on them ( the hotel next door didnt). Very friendly staff! Room clean and pillows a bit too high butcomfortable beds.
Restaurant the best! Have lots of options on menu. Verygood food! Lots of seafooddishes. Good location with lots of beachmassage available. Also a very nice Spa in hotelarea and I tried ” thai massage” and ” oilmassage with aroma oil”. Both were very nice! We will definitely come back to this hotel.

One of the best locations on the island. We stayed in deluxe sea view for 3300 baht a night. The rooms are very good, comfy beds and good aircon. These rooms have everything including mosquito racket and a big torch.
Breakfast lots of options both Thai and Euro to stock up on for the day. Breakfast area has a fantastic view overlooking beach.
No language worries, staff spoke very good English, were polite, professional and very happy to help. Moving rooms was a breeze.
We have stayed in a few locations on this island and this is the best. We do hope to stay again.

Fiance and I stayed in a beach bungalow, which was decent size, but not big. A picture window viewed the beach and water through attractive brush. All the amenities are here, food, beach, lounge chairs, ac, hot water fridge, etc. We dont usually spend much time in the rooms, but here, we spent a few hours total sitting on our small porch. A hotel down the way was blasting music in the eve, but I can deal with it. It was far enough away, and we both sleep through train wrecks. I dont recall it lasted too long, and I figure this meant someone was enjoying their stay differently than were we.
The ferry taxi drops you a short hike (50-75m?) from the hotel reception, so you will need to carry or roll your luggage down a path and past a few shops and relaxing patrons.
The food was very good, imo, and reasonably priced.
They also put on a short fire-dancer show after dark. The beach was clean and the water was warm. You can also get a massage on the beach if you desire.

Room tip: If you want to rent a scooter for the day, walk a few meters down the road from the taxi drop-off. Prices drop dramatically! Roads are easy to navigate and not busy

I cannot rave enough about this hotel. It is a perfect little island getaway. The view is just beautiful. From the moment I arrived, all of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Initially I had a budget room which is at the back of the hotel. I stayed in there for only one night and then moved to a sea view deluxe and it was well worth it. You get a fantastic view, sea breeze and smell for not that much of a difference in price. I think I paid an extra £68 for all 3 nights.

There’s a hotel restaurant which is lovely and then Reef Restaurant just next door which does incredible food and cocktails. There’s other places further down the beach where it’s a lot busier and places stay open much later. I didn’t try any of them though, I was very happy with the hotel and Reef.

I will absolutely be returning in the future and will stay for longer next time.

Room tip: Try the caramel iced lattes!

Weekend stay at Samed Villa Resort. Rather than take a crowded van to the hotel, I decided to walk from Nadan Pier instead. Less than 20 mins. You actually have to pass through the Silversands Hotel to reach SVR. This isn’t very clear as there’s no signage.

I stayed in an economy room. It was actually above some of the staff rooms at the back of the resort, so it was quite dark. There was a balcony, but a miserable view. It was considerably more worn than it looked in the photos, but it was fine for me for two nights - it’s all I needed - and worth it for the price saving.

There’s no pool at the resort, but it’s beachfront, and there’s plenty of sun loungers.

Overall, I was pretty impressed. It’s well-run and organised. Friendly staff (everyone says hello). Breakfast was good, as was the food in the restaurant.

Wi-Fi not quite so impressive, but just about manageable with a bit of patience.

The stay at Samed Villas was very relaxing. The location of our villa in comparison to the beach and local amenities was excellent, no more than a 2-5 min walk.

We had breakfast included free with our booking and they had a varied display of food which differed each day. There is additional extras of massages and dinner available.
