We've been coming here for years. We've had morning coffee - filter coffee includes a refill; lunch; afternoon tea and the full birthday afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and cake!! All excellent, the fact that we go back whenever we get a chance to go to Rochester says it all. The biggest drawback back is the staircase as it is the only way up to the tea room which my husband now finds a struggle..

The tea room is upstairs, it was a very hot day but there was an air con machine.
I ordered the cream tea for £4.95. It was superb. Two warm fresh fruit scones, lots of jam and clotted cream and a pot of tea. The person serving was very efficient and she was friendly. There was a very good choice of food on the menu with lots of home made cakes as well.. Considering that I was there when The Dickens Festival was on and the street was full of people, Peggotty's Parlour was a peaceful haven. I highly recommend a visit.

Have visited Peggotty's many times with my family and friends, even when I was little. Very friendly staff, reasonable prices and the cakes are to die for! Great place to have an enjoyable afternoon away from the rain.

A little hidden away, this restaurant has great food and a lovely atmosphere. Not to my surprise, it's been full when I've gone there. The quiche is particularly great. There is an excellent waitress who is both friendly and efficient. You are extremely close to the cathedral, the castle and Baggins second hand bookshop. In fact, you're right next to plenty of interesting shops.
