My son and I ordered fish and chips, The portion was minuscule, we both were given two bits of fish if you could call it that,!! smaller than fish fingers, dry with no flavour or hardly any batter, chips were chewy cold and undercooked. This was the worst meal we had ever had in our lives. Uneditable...Totally disgusted!!!

I should make it clear that this review and rating is as a pub only as we only used it for drinks, so I can’t comment on the food.

Although a hotel, the bar is more of a traditional pub bar with wooden flooring, wood tables and chairs and a pleasant atmosphere. They had a couple of ales on tap and the seating was comfortable. Being very close to the cathedral and castle there looked to be a mix of clientele, from locals to visitors, but there were no groups of loud youngsters (at least, not when we were there), and it didn’t look that sort of place. The young lady behind the bar was friendly and welcoming, and we found it a pleasant and comfortable pub with a good ambience for a few drinks. I would certainly use it again for a drink when next in the area.

I visited here for dinner with my partner. The food was average and the staff did not care about their customers. It was quiet for a reason. Avoid!
