Review of Parc Hotel
3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 21 Sept 2019via mobile
We arrived at Parc Hotel quite early (10:30am) from Verona airport. A short twenty minutes by coach. But we were welcomed poorly. We understand rooms might not be available, but we were just told to come back at 3pm. We could leave our bags. No other information. So we shambled around a bit until we talked to the information desk lady. Much more helpful. She attached our full board wrist bands and said to come back at 1pm. The rooms would be ready. And they were!
The hotel is light and airy. Across several floors with lifts available. The main restaurant is on the lower ground floor.
Our rooms were a good size with a nice balcony on the top floor. Tea and coffee making facilities. A tv with poor channel selection. But who watches tv on holiday anyway?
Bed were only average. Bit squeaky. A bit solid.
Our full board plan included three buffet style help yourself meals with a large range of good quality food. Beer, red and white wine and soft drinks included. Prosecco for breakfast :-)
If you are a golfer I’m sure the courses were good. I am not.
We tried the steam, sauna and wet rooms one afternoon for €12 each which was relaxing.
Three large outdoor swimming pools. Not heated. But good for a dip in the hot weather.
There were two other places to eat, but these were excluded from the full board plan - a shame.
There was an almost hourly free bus service into Peschiera which was very useful. Dropped you off near the ferry services on Lake Garda (and at the train station if required)
We had a number of visits to Peschiera town. Also ferries to Sirmione and Bardolino. Good value
Plenty of ice creams and site seeing.
The area is beautiful and Italians welcoming. We unfortunately had to test the local hospital as my 20 year old daughter got a suspected ear infection. Saw ear, nose and throat consultant very quickly. Excellent service.
The evening entertainment was generally ok. The staff were very friendly and worked hard. Thanks to them.
So why only 3 stars? I think I had higher expectations for the hotel. It was a bit soulless. It could have just tried a bit harder.

For a young family (kids 7 and 9), we have been coming for four years. We get the all inclusive, which means my wife does not need to cook. There are several pools to amuse the kids. There is entertainment throughout the day the kids, and in the evening for all. Get a room which is refurbished (small supplement). we drive from the UK, and there is ample parking. Great position to go and visit Lake Garda, Verona, and all the attractions like Gardaland. We will be going back next year

IT was a verry Nice stay in this hotel. The kids had an amazing time there. IT was verry clean and the staff was verry freindly and helpfull. The animation team was good, but iT would be more fun for the kids of there was someone who could talk a little bit off dutch!

Room tip: IT where verry Nice rooms, but a little bit small with 4 people. And there was not enough place to put clothes away of 4 persons.

No wifi, terrible beds and pillows, service is inexistent and issues are not solved.

We lost electricity one night and instead of fixing it, they made us go to the reception ourselves (400 m walk) to get keys for another apartment. We spent the whole night having to move our stuff to the new apartment. Next morning we were sent back to the previous place and again spent time moving things.

Staff gave us ZERO compensation for the hassle. The manager refused to speak to us 3 days in a row.

Avoid it!

Our first time in Lake Garda and an experience that was positive, overall. No queues for sunbeds (plentiful at whatever time of day),no drunks or loutish behaviour, clean & tidy everywhere (rooms, areas etc) and lots to do in & around. The wifi wasn't the best so that needs sorting but small things like having towels to use by the pool, adequate room to have a shower on the last day (in the wellness centre) made a big difference to the holiday. The gym is past its best but is still useable as an option, the indoor swimming pool is great, there are tennis courts at the sports centre which can be used for a small charge so big wins here. The shuttle bus into the town is reliable, probably would benefit from running more regularly but ok overall. Days out to Verona (£28/4 people on the train) is a must, other options include Gardaland (free tcickets),Venice/Milan.
My biggest gripe, food was good overall,by the way,was the way the all-inclusive drinks were served up i.e. in plastic cups & everything at the main hotel bar was a problem for the lady in charge (face tripped her up most days) & the old man (who should have been pensioned off by now). All the other staff were excellent, particularly the reception staff who were superb. The main point for me which would deter me from re-booking more than the wi-fi, was the miserable bar staff & second class way of serving up the all-inclusive drinks, they either want AI guests or not, if they do, make it more pleasant an experince at the bar!
