We spent a lovely 3 days at Villa la Mirabella. Paolo was really welcoming and helpful. The house is beautiful and charming, overlooking the lake and close to restaurants and the ferry services. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and can highly recommend this place.

Our room was on the second floor, facing the lake and with views across to Bellagio. The room, called 'La Mirabella', had a sitting area and a large bathroom with a shower (no bath). The owner was very pleasant and helpful, but the proliferation of laminated signs everywhere ('please close the door quietly', 'be careful of the furniture' and 'don't bring food from outside into the hotel' etc), was a little off-putting. I can understand that he and his family have put a lot of care and money into restoring the house and turning it into a hotel, but a slightly more relaxed attitude would help. The hotel faces the narrow road that runs around the edge of the lake and it carries a lot of traffic, so the French doors facing the narrow balcony can't be left open at night. The hotel is well located though, with Villa Carlotta only 200m down the road, as well as ferry stops (including the car ferry) within walking distance.

Room tip: Rooms on the sides of the hotel, or at the rear, would be marginally quieter than those facing the lake.

From the moment we walked through the door, we were treated so kindly. Our host was outstanding! He is friendly, kind and helpful. The Villa is just beautiful. Be sure to take time to walk up into the tiered gardens behind the villa. The location is great! It is near two ferry landings, so it is easy to get to the nearby villages of Bellagio, Varenna and Menaggio. Breakfast was served in beautiful rooms overlooking Lake Como. We opted to eat at the villa one night..what a treat! We had an absolutely lovely visit!

Highly recommend this location for everything you need! Excellent peaceful location, gorgeous views, walking distance to some good local businesses and easy to ferry to Bellagio and other towns. The grounds are stunning and rooms are very clean. Staff are eager to help and very kind.

Our friends booked this hotel for our Autumn break to Lake Como last year, we were delighted with their choice.
The Villa was beautiful and our room had a small baking and overlooked the Lake , the decor was magnificent ....I felt very special to stay in such beautiful surroundings.
The brothers who own this were very attentive & obviously very proud of their Villa.
We enjoyed a lovely breakfast everyday, then went sailing on the Lake .
I would highly recommend the Villa La Mirabella, you will not be disappointed.
