The location is excellent if you are attending the Kenu and Kundu festival as it is walking distance. The rooms are comfortable with views or glimpses of the sea. The food is average.
We had attempted to book through the hotel web site twice with no reply. We then booked three nights through booking.com. When we arrived we were bumped for the first night. they offered to find alternate accommodation or a site shed (see picture below). Eventually after asking to speak to the manager we were offered a room of inferior quality to the one we had booked. The arrogant receptionist made it clear that it was our fault as we had booked through booking.com. We were not given an apology or a refund. We were paying $300 per night.

Spent couple if days in Alotau and stayed at Alotau International. Room is basic, but clean and spacious. Wifi worked ok. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast is terrible though. If you want an omelette you will have to fork out an additional 20 K.

I also would like to apology about those breakfast inconvenience that you experienced. especially for the wrong information given by our wait staff, our new live omelet cooking station should be free of charge with all the accompaniment (Sausages, Baked Beans, Bacon, hash-brown or sauteed potatoes)

For Alotau this is probably the best hotel around in the area. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The rooms are basic (or should I say beach style rooms), yet they are extremely clean. The food was ok and I felt safe whilst staying here, which for me was very important. I would definitely stay here again when next in Alotau, there truly isn't much choice out here ..... Wifi would be an asset, but that will probably happen in time.

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions now and found the staff to be consistently pleasant, positive and helpful people. They have made me feel welcome and my stays there comfortable. The restaurant staff have been extremely accommodating when it comes to dinner and I have found myself enjoying some of the most delicious food I have eaten in PNG. However, these dishes have not been part of the regular menu which I would rate as consistently mediocre in quality and taste - especially since the departure of Sri Lankan Chef Manoj. Chef Manoj created a delicious crab dish, which Chef Christine has taken to even greater heights. She is very capable and creative and I give her cooking 5 stars! I understand they now have an Indonesian Chef, but alas I have chosen a mother hotel for my next stay in Alotau, however I may return. Things to watch out for are the tiles which run the length of the outside walkway to many of the rooms which become extremely slippery and have already caused trips to the hospital for people who have slipped up. Although this is an obvious health and safety issue, the owners choose to ignore it. It rains a lot in Alautau so beware.

Unfortunately our new Executive Chef Mr. Devi Murdevi arrived in March 2019 just after your last visit in early February. He has extensive experiences and have worked in many parts of the world such as Germany, Switzerland, Dubai, Vietnam and Indonesia, surely he would be able to surprise with new delicacies on your future visit.
Crabs and lobster are seasonal items, that is why we do not list it in our regular menu in order to avoid complaints. As you may know Alotau is a very small town and Food items here are inconsistent, but feel free to contact us to put special order while making making your hotel reservation for us to be able to source it well in advance.
Thank you for your sharing your concern on our floor tiles, we surely will elaborate your concern on our upcoming renovation project this year and will source for rough surface floor tiles to avoid hazard and safety issues along the guest room walkways.

Apparently I decided to make my tracks back to the popular AIH over the weekend the place is the best and first class. Though most people crowd around the garden bar is too watch NRL most do have moneý to buy rest are there only watch.
The GM understands cause most are NRL followers, people undersþands hotel rules n the abide to it. Thank GM.
Am impressed with the lookout and it's still best location for the visitors nationally n abroad. Popular Papa's Pizza is everybody's favourite because it so delicious. So if you are thinking of visiting Alotau I bet you Alotau International Hotel is the place to be.
