Lovely bungalows and helpful staff. Its a 90+ minute boat ride from Saunderson bay but worth it. Make sure you go to see the manta rays.
There are challenges here - no air conditioning or fans, and i wish they had lifejackets on the banana boats.
we loved the snorkeling and coral, and some nice birdwatching. bring your own snorkel and fins - we left behind ours because they had no fins.
but the people are genuine, helpful and it is a natural setting. you will need to stay for at least 2-3 nites (we stayed 4) to do everything. Isaiah the owner is helpful and kind. its a safe place to visit. Very instructive to see what village life is like in a remote area like Logeia Island, Milne Bay.
It's great to know that you had a positive experience at Nuli Sapi. We try to use solar power as much as possible to limit our environmental impact and at times it can be challenging without modern comforts. We booked for 4 nights and ended up staying for 8 nights. I cried when we had to leave. This place is just so wonderful, and you have to experience it yourself. The island and the community there is wonderful. It’s safe to walk around and experience local life. We were the only tourists on the whole island for the whole stay. It’s safe to go see all this amazing corals and fish just in front of Nuli Sapi.
It’s really quiet and peaceful. Every morning you get to wake up to a beautiful sunrise, and see the Milne Bay waters from your porch, located ON water. During low tide you can explore the little critters of the mangroves and give a mud bath for your feet if you wish, I loved it. If you think the price for a day is expensive, it really is not. It includes everything, and if you haven’t been to PNG before, you will see that it is not a cheap country!! For the day fee of Nuli Sapi, you will get the gorgeaous bungalow, with a shower and toilet inside (really clean and everything works perfectly), plenty to eat, and the food is AMAZING!!! Bon should be working for Gordon Ramsey with those skills; he really knows what to do with the local, fresh ingredients!
Make sure you take cash with you for the nice cold sunset beers and wine, and for the excuisite handmade neclases and bracelets you can buy from the locals if you wish. Just ask Isaiah and he will tell you where to get them. He will also organize all the tours and transportation for you.
Make sure you make a reservation in advance from Kayleigh via nulisapi@gmail.com. Sometimes the phone connections are down, as this is a remote island. Please let them know in advance of your arrival, so that they are able to prepare all the necessary arrangements for your stay. Keyleigh will provide you info of all the day trips you can take with them, they are all worth doing. Take Billy or Terry with you and snorkel around the whole Deka Deka island. The corals are absolutely stunning in the back of the island! The front is good, too. Heck all around it’s good! But in front of Nuli Sapi there are stunning soft and hard corals as well, so you don’t have to go far.
The staff is the best. Isaiah and Kayleigh will take care of organizing your stay and make it an experience you will cherish forever. We had Terry, Billy and Bon with us on day trips, and we had a blast with them. You will need your sence of humour with you, though, and you might also learn a lot of things! Bertha will tell you amazing stories and keep everything spot on clean, she is just a wonderful lady. They all are wonderful people. And I miss Roti the dog of course. I wanna go back now and stay for at least two more weeks.
I cannot give enough compliments of this place. I have travelled in 55 countries and this place is in my top 3 so far, probably number 1. Go and see it yourself, you will be very well looked after and you will probably make friends for life.

Nuli Sapi provides a serene, fabulous & peaceful location where you can wake up to the gentle lapping of waves in the mangroves, a perfect brief getaway. You can observe wildlife from your balcony, in your pyjamas or better still laplap (sarong). From soaring sea eagles to the humble little crab dragging it's hollowed coral shelter. Have Dekadeka island to yourself for a swim in turquoise waters & snorkelling, meters from the shore.
Captain Benjamin, and his crew, Nelson the chef, Terry the barman who pick us up from Alotau had gone out of their way to trust us, a family of four, at short notice, without any prior reservation, except a simple phone call to Isaiah the owner. Take away a South seas pearl from Kim on Samarai island, not without a lesson on pearl farming. The Logeia Island hosts even combined our welcome and farewell with a feast of local food on request and a local string band music to send us off to the UK with Kailogeia song. We were fortunate to be accompanied by a pod of dolphins in calm & pristine waters on our departure. Nuli Sapi's facilities are for those who appreciate small & simple comforts, provided with warmth and genuine respect by local people who make every effort to make it work for their guests. Nuli Sapi is a wonderful, remote, locally-run place. Kayleigh handles the bookings over email with excellent efficiency and we felt in very safe hands. Isaiah and his family then look after you on the ground, and they made us feel so welcome, letting us tag along on shopping trips to load islands, and taking us to various snorkeling spots and deserted islands. Highlights include Kwato, Deka Deka beach, and the manta ray island. Nuli itself is completely idyllic - lovely little bungalows on stilts, plenty of cold beers and views over the bay. Overall this is an amazing part of the world. The people are fantastic - kind, open, up for a laugh - and the reefs the healthiest I've ever seen. Plus so many places to explore. It's hard to believe it still doesn't get many tourists though I can only imagine that will change soon. Get there quick!
