The beach needs alot of attention . Too much debris on the beach and the water is too rocky. Its a shame that Castellammare beaches are taken care of and the beaches of Alcamo are neglected. There are many private houses off this beach and the owners allow the beach to atrophy . The city needs to step in and to allow more restaurants and tourist attractions off this beach because it has so much potential !

Visited here with 2 young kids and found it ideal. Numerous restaurants serving fresh food all day and plenty of lidos with umbrellas for rent to shelter from the strong Sicilian sun.

This is a long fine sandy beach by a road full of beach houses and villas, some look very big. The beach is fairly unkempt with lots of driftwood and litter and the local council really need to clean this beach up and provide bins. No shops or beach bars. Very isolated if you don't have a car. The sea is very clear and warm. Some seaweed. On entrance to the sea it is very stoney and with shells but this only lasts 5 metres. Once past this it is a sandy bottom and very good strong waves. Water is great to play around in with the waves. We stayed in the sea for many hours and was clean and excellent fun. Just need to clean the beach up and stop the littering.

I was worried that our visit would be ruined by this beach because of previous reviews. However, I just don't agree with them. We spent 12 days visiting the beach at all different times. I was there at 730am when I witnessed teams walking along the beach with sacks clearing the rubbish, there at 930 when the tractor drove along the beach collecting all the rubbish sacks, and it looked like they were really trying to deal with the rubbish. We found that Sicily had a great deal of rubbish dumped by roads etc, and I think that it is just honestly a culture thing that needs reeducating. But they're making a huge effort.
One night they opened a new place called Tyrhennian Village which has decking, gazebos, beds, food, drink, showers etc. Two of our party had the very first receipt from this place, and in many ways this place transformed our experience of this beach.
So, go to this great place, enjoy the beach, swim, and just be kind to the Sicilians who are trying to keep this beach clean.

I stayed for 9 days in Alcamo Marina, which is a proper ghost town. The beach is a very long stretch of coastline in the middle of a gorgeous bay, with clean water and a view of the surrounding mountains. I have never seen such a dirty beach, all covered in all sorts of rubbish (dirty nappies, plastic and glass bottles, fishnet leftovers, plastic bags, cakes packages...). There are no litter bins and the town hall does not provide any type of environmental service (our waste was never picked up for the full duration of our holiday and we would be obliged to keep it out of the containers). Also, the beach is outlined by a dense line of illegal buildings that invade the narrow stretch of flat land and the surrounding hills. There doesn't seem to be any urban plan at all, only a fool selfish desire to get hold of a patch of land in a place that long ago must have been a true Eden.
