This is a typical Indian Ocean beach, white sand, aqua water and beautiful views. It's not too busy but there is plenty to keep you busy

We really loved this beach, our second favorite on the east coast of Zanzibar. Isolated, yet busy enough to have other options to interact with people than just those in beach resorts. Numerous small beach art stores, kiosks, and even a pet monkey. We drove from Stone Town, 50min, and were able to park 5 meters from the beach, after driving down a small access road through a village. At high tide, there were enough sandy areas where kids can swim without the normal Zanzibar worry of urchins or sharp rocks. Great walking beach, tanning beach, and just hanging out.
Kiwengwa is one of the popular beaches of Zanzibar. It is the kind of the beach where you can find bars, terraces, various activities. It is a very nice area! We visited it as we were here to rent Quads to visit old village.
You can go for really long walks on the beach. Be aware of the tide but it is only fascinating. You should wear sandals if you want to walk amongst the sea plants. Stay on the beach until sunset for amazing colour experiences.
The beach with all it's fossilized coral in the hollowed out seacaves made for great exploring and beach experience
Couldn't ask for more - white sand, sun, warm water. Wade out to the coral reef at low tide or walk for miles. Yes, there are beach boys but if you ignore them they leave you alone
