We stayed at the lodge for three nights and never got tired of the food at the restaurant. The breakfasts are bountiful and delicious - our favorite was the breakfast burger. You also get freshly baked breads and a fruit salad. But the seafood is truly what takes the price. We tried octopus, lobster, calamari, and various fish - all cooked perfectly! The chef is a big fan of cumin so if you're not a fun ask the server. The sashimi was a personal favorite. In short, great service, idelic views and memorable food will make your dinner unforgotable

It is a beautifully designed restaurant overlooking the beach and ocean. Friendly and very professional staff . Every day different dishes on the menu with three choices per dish. It's better to choose several dishes because the dishes are quite small. We've eaten here several times and it was kind off hit or miss . One day I chose the Swahili dish, but all I got was a chicken leg with potatoes and sauce. I thought this was not worth the $ 18,- . Overall I think this restaurant is too expensive for what you get, but it 's worth to eat there once.

The food here is good, by Tanzanian standards, though we had better elsewhere on Zanzibar. The dishes are, however, seriously over-priced compared to other places. Mains between 30-40 000 tzh, which would have been acceptable if the food was amazing, but it’s not. Selection isn’t great, a few starters and 2-3 mains on offer each night. No vegetarian options for mains. Some of the waiters don’t speak English very well, which was a bit of a problem when ordering. Also, what annoyed us the most was the awkward service. We were approached repeatedly during the meal, several times during each course, always interrupted in conversation by the waiters asking if everything was okay, had we finished with this or that etc. We appreciate a more discreet and attentive service, which was not the case here. On the upside, the view from the restaurant is great, cutlery and dishes very clean, and drinks are served well chilled.
