This hotel was just what we wanted. Complete peace & quiet away from the main town area. The room was a lovely sea view room with picturesque balcony. The bed was very comfortable & the staff made it so special by dressing our bed with petals & towel art. Aircon kept the room a perfect temperature. The only slight downside was the water pressure & showers took a little longer than usual (but we are on an island).
The food here is fantastic & we looked forward to every meal. The staff are excellent & always trying to give you the best possible experience, they set up a special area for us to dine on a couple of occasions which was super thoughtful. It was our honeymoon & Paul (the manager) arranged a complimentary massage which was excellent.
The private beach area is gorgeous & raised up from the main beach front as access to that is limited due to the tide.
All in all a fantastic stay.

We booked here for 4 nights checked out after 2 . On arrival we were shown around by the manager. He explained that the power was off but after 15min they run the generators .We freshened up and went for a drink no ice as power was still out. No fridge in room . The swimming pool was in need of a bit of tlc . The skimmer was not working . The pool hadnt been cleaned tiles on the bottom green algae on bottom and steps . We spoke to the gardener he tried his best . The pool next day was still not skimming and the pump was not running . Having booked a hotel with pool this was not a serviceable pool . I am a builder and have constructed several pools and I think I know what a pool should do . On explaining our disappointment with the pool and there inability to rectify the pool we checked out . The manager was not helpful just not wanting to listen to the fact that his pool was not working .
We checked out threw away 300 pounds but found a better pool and much more professional hotel near by .

We recently spent four nights here as an end to a Safari.
Paul and his staff do a wonderful job of making you feel welcome.
The rooms are spacious, we had a balcony over looking the sea.
Everyday our bed was adorned with flowers and towel art.
The food is delicious, and the peace and calm of the hotel was wonderful.
We also had a massage which was very relaxing.

Room tip: I think the sea view was slightly better from the first floor.

I loved the Zanzibari. The grounds are stunning and you really feel like you are hiding away from the world. The rooms are gorgeous with super comfortable beds and bathroom (my particular pet peeves). The staff is so kind and really were welcoming. I would choose to stay there every single possible time in Zanzibar.

I think most people come here after their safari- so its time to wind down.
it is quite small with 11 rooms- so dont expect a giant international style hotel.
Theres nice garden and sea views from the hotel. You can walk along the beach when the tide is out-- or walk to the local village.Apart from boat trips not a lot else to do-- but that is the point of the place.
The bedrooms are very large- with the bed arranaged differently every day. Theres no tv but there is wifi
We were on half board--its a five course meal-- well prepared and tasty. You order in the morning what you want in the evening.
It is a small hotel so dont expect super attentive service-- but the grounds are huge and you will have plenty of space to yourself with excellent views. to unwind

Room tip: pick one with a sea view
