Having visited a number of HRC venues throughout SE Asia, we thought to try Hard Rock Cafe, Honolulu last night
If I'm being honest, they're all very similar with expensive pricing, average service, lots of music memorabilia...but decent meals.
We checked in downstairs at a counter just inside the HRC store to be told that our table would be ready in about 20mins despite us arriving promptly at our reservation time.
It kinda makes a mockery of reserving a table by making a booking ahead of time if you still need to wait for your table to be cleared and ready??? A short time later, this same tall guy we had checked in with starts yelling my name up & down the street at everyone else except us despite only speaking with us a few minutes earlier and no-one else waiting at the front door. Very weird?
Proceeding upstairs to the restaurant proper, we found we needed to check in again and wait yet again...
After another short interlude at the top of some very steep stairs, we found ourselves finally escorted to our table and seated.
As a word of advice to management - I'd consider moving this check in area as its way too close to very steep stairs. I could easily envision a massive lawsuit arising from somebody falling down the stairs whilst waiting at the top for a table!
We ordered a Messi chicken burger, 2 x strip loin steaks, Nachos, and a margherita flatbread to share as a starter. Drinks comprised Berry Cooler juices and iced water. Our meals were all good although steaks came out considerably later than the other meals. The juices were lovely.
Prices as expected were inflated and the service was a bit slow.
We had a walk about the restaurant to view the memorabilia after our dinner. I liked the Paul Stanley signed guitar, a guitar signed by Eric Clapton, the Jimi Hendrix headband, and Eddie Vedder's (Pearl Jam) denim jacket. There was also a leotard worn by Tommy Lee (Motley Crue).
Overall, our experience was as expected despite the multiple times we seemed to wait around checking in.
