Great Hotel and Stay

Hilton Waikiki is located about a block from Waikiki Beach on Kuhio Avenue. I consider that a plus because it's away from the noise on the main road parallel to the beach itself called Kalakaua Avenue. If you've ever been on The Strip in Las Vegas, that's basically Kalakaua Ave. It's an easy walk to the beach and isn't a problem for me.

I arrived very early in the afternoon after flying in. I just wanted to check my bags and get something to eat, but was allowed to check in. That was awesome. My room faced the mountains on a high floor and had a beautiful view. The room was great and well maintained. The bed was also very soft. I got great sleep on it each night.

The only issued I had was outside noise. This hotel has balconies where people tend to congregate late at night or early in the morning and act as though no one around them wants to sleep. The streets leading to the beach on either side of the property are also noisy with cars and motorcycles racing their engines and the sound of sirens waking me up several times each night. For this reason I recommend as high a floor as you can get.

There is a small bar with good service and a coffee shop with a limited menu. I only ate there once but it was very good.

It's easy to get rideshares and taxis in the valet area and most of the tour buses pick up right outside the hotel.

The main reason this will be my hotel in the future is it has a laundry facility on the premises. This is extremely convenient. It takes credit cards and quarters and the sundry shop sells laundry detergent. In the future, I won't have to pack eight to ten changes of clothes and will just take a carryon bag and just plan to wash every three or four days.

Employees there were extremely nice and helpful. I will be a repeat customer.

Nice hotel and great value. Highlights include spacious lobby, fast elevators, mini golf course and unlimited filtered water. Hotel sits back of small church so ocean view is not obstructed. Don’t miss included lei-making class. Close proximity to everything without feeling in hustle and bustle of WB. Hotel offers a chair or boogie board free rental as part of resort fees. Most of popular restaurants were less than half mile and beach was a block away. Rooms could use a bit more Hawaiian theme. Friendly staff.

Room tip: Don’t miss lei-making class and take advantage of included beach rental.

I made a last minute booking. And probably one of the best decisions I made. Lorie, Michelle, and Chae was so amazing and lovely Front Desk Reps! Those 3 are a prime example of living up to Aloha Standards and the best customer service. Thank you ladies for all the help and making sure my keiki had an amazing time! Can’t wait to book another stay! Chae thank you for making sure we were set and beyond happy!

THE POSITIVES- LOCATION was a convenient walking distance to beach, restaurants and stores. STAFF at front desk and housekeeping was overall friendly enough. ROOM had a excellent oceanview that was nice to wake up to every morning. Beds were comfortable, had refrigerator and bathroom had the usual products Hilton gives you. OVERALL it was a typical Hilton hotel.

THE NEGATIVES- ROOM was changed x 2 from our first request on the Hilton app. It was not clean upon arrival- dusty furniture and dirty floor. Light fixture over mirror was badly rusted- gross. Shower set up was awkwardly placed on other wall from door so had to get wet with cold water to turn it on. Updates would be nice along with more Hawaiian theme throughout hotel to make it feel like a resort. A microwave should also be in the room. Iron had a short in it and iron board filthy- probably never changed from the start. COMMUNICATION- could have been better, limited info in room and briefly mentioned in elevator screens. Hilton app was not detailed enough either. About where to get towels and the other amenities in the hotel. We were charged a resort fee for items we didn’t even get opportunity to use or know where to get. The Hilton WiFi code didn’t work and kept wanting to charge for standard. Just happened to see and read card in room that says stop by concierge desk in first 24 hours upon arrival for free gift we never got because we didn’t see card until past time. Why not mention this in the random phone call voice message we reviewed early the next morning that woke us up? BREAKFAST package not worth the extra cost- could not use it on room service or take out which was not clearly stated on website, so inconvenient for us and wasted money. It was also not good- waffles were terrible- how can you mess up waffles?, had better breakfast from the grab and go place or did Uber eats from IHOP. RESTAURANT is not 24/7. Dinner was OK except size of pizza small for the cost even in Hawaii. Did I already say the breakfast was awful? Ordered pick up via app and could not select individual items. Requested side of bacon when went to pick up the order which was not ready on time anyway. One night , the waitress with blonde hair saw me standing at front, didn’t smile or ask what I wanted, just rudely looked and walked by so I left and we never order from MAC 24/7 again. OVERALL there is nothing special about the room to make you feel special that your in Hawaii- other than if you get a good oceanview room on high floor. The cleanliness and theme of the room was also less than expected. The on-site restaurant was not good- we had better food and customer service elsewhere, even though less convenient location.

Room tip: Get breakdast from another restaurant.

We spent our 31st Anniversary at the resort. It was an incredible experience. Beautiful location, fabulous staff, everything was either spotless or being cleaned the whole week we were there. Grateful for the opportunity to have visited this beautiful part of the world and to have stayed in the resort.

Had a great stay at Hilton Waikiki Beach. Front Desk Associate Izzy is super, he followed up with the item I forgot in my room and sent it to my home. Truly appreciate the kindness and hospitality of the staff and crew of this hotel. The rooms are made up every 4 days if you want your room made up everyday just tell the front desk and they will happily oblige.
