As we pulled off the highway on our drive from Cameron to Flagstaff, we questionned whether this would be worth the time and effort needed to drive around this loop. We stopped at the first set of ruins, which made it worth the trip. We then continued to drive on the loop and saw even more interesting locations that were created in the 1100's and 1200's. We stopped at the visitor's center and took the tour of the ruins behind the center. I didn't see them from the road and my jaw literally dropped when I saw the ruins behind the visitor's center. They were incredibly impressive both in size and completeness. I'm very glad that we took the time to turn off the main highway and visit this site.

Large Indian ruins behind the Welcome Center. Two more ruins north of the Center. I recommend stopping and seeing and learning about the history of the ruins. I find them amazing.

Great park with excellent information and visitor center. easy walk to all the ruins. Could not believe the great preservation of these ruins. Signage was great explaining what each area was.

It was interesting to read about the history of this ruin & to actually go into it. Why I didn't give 5 stars was because of a situation with a Ranger, which this park seems to have a lot of issues with, by reading the reviews. We were driving up from the Sunset Crater to the ruins. Speed limit it 45. We were doing 45. A white truck came barreling up behind us & road our bumper for several minutes. If it wasn't for the rental car, my husband was ready to lock up the breaks. Then he passed us. It was a Ranger & he clearly was NOT doing the speed limit as he sped away from us.
