Westward Look is located in the foothills north of downtown Tucson. The views of the city are beautiful, especially at sunset. The rooms are spacious and the grounds are very well kept. The resort has several different pool areas, tennis courts, and a walking path that circles the resort so guests can enjoy the natural desert habitat upon which the resort sits. We enjoyed sitting on our patio outside our room where we saw a number of different birds and even a family of quail. The rustic nature of the resort is unique in and of itself. It is a great place to relax and enjoy its natural beauty.

This is my third stay at the Westward Look. It continues to come in right in the middle of the rating range for me for a number of reasons.
Pros:
1) Spacious comfortable rooms. Large sitting area and baths. Separate shower/toilet area from dressing room so allows two people to use facility at once.
2) very nice native desert landscaping particularly beautiful when in full bloom (April) also water efficient.
3) comfortable meeting rooms
4) adequate restaurant on premise and separate bar/lounge
5) fairly well equipped fitness
center and several pools and hot tubs
6) friendly helpful staff

Cons
1) location, location, location. When you're here, you're not convenient to anywhere. Which is good for the hotel in terms of sales but bad for you in terms of options.
2) whoever designed the layout may have thought they were being cute or creative, but what they ended up with is a confusing mess. The trails and walks are a meandering mess of mazes that take you to dead ends or anywhere you don't want to go. Signage and way finding are similarly atrocious. One couple was overheard complaining to the front desk that it took them 20 minutes to find their unit among twisting driveways.
3) furnishings are in dire need of replacement in some units (see photo)
4) food ok but a little overpriced and portions are small
5) no airport shuttle. There is a fleet of shuttle vans but they don't seem to be available for much of anything.

For the rates charged Wyndham could step up their game.
