Stayed one night as I was passing through town. Picked this hotel so I could enjoy the downtown area. Check in was fast and easy. Was told to use my room key to open the gate for the parking garage. It was an extra $13 for parking and they charged it to my room. I knew this in advanced and was fine with it. Got put in a room with the window that faced an A/C unit of some sort. That area was covered in trash, debris and standing scummy water. Over night the upstairs rooms were stomping and screaming past midnight. Sounded like a McDonald's play house upstairs. Pool area was nice and clean. Breakfast in the morning was also nice, no issues with that.
When I went out to my car to pack up, I found my car had been booted. This is where the hotel staff failed miserably. A hotel can be great but when it comes down to it ... it is only as great as their ability to problem solve, treat their customers with common courtesy, respect and remain professional. I went to the front desk to let them know about the loud neighbors and the boot on my car. Was told to call the number on the boot, that he had no control over it. Was also asked if my parking pass was placed on my windshield. This is where the mis communication was. They did not give me a parking pass, was only told to use my room key to get into the parking garage. He also seemed not to care about the loud neighbors, blew it off like it was nothing. The guy I talked to was Cesar. As the conversation went on, he began laughing at the situation. Very rude and unprofessional. Was told there was nothing he could do about the boot, there was no manager on site.(boot guy later told us the night manager gave him a lost of car's to boot in the parking garage) It took me standing there with the boot guy, my boyfriend and the receipt for my paid parking before he reluctantly gave permission to the boot guy to release my car.
In regards to the loud neighbors, Cesar was again rude. Still snickering, saying there was no proof of the the loud neighbors. He offered no contact information for management when asked. Said they would be in in 1 to 2 hours.
Overall I have never found an employee in a guest service job to be so rude and unprofessional. I have worked guest service types of jobs before and still work in a public service job now, never would I ever laugh at a customer after they had been kept awake all night by other guests and then had the stress of finding their car booted. The actions of this employee are inexcusable.
