we’ve stayed at the grand Wailea for years but we are shocked to see how astronomical the room rates are. Typical room rates in the past would be in the $500 to $600 range plus taxes and fees, but when we checked for this summer rooms started at $1,400 for a basic entry level room. Why have rates gone up so much? The Four Seasons rates were less.

Had our first family vacation in Hawaii and we chose the island of Maui. We chose the Grand Wailea. It was an excellent choice. Staff was always so helpful. The property is absolutely stunning. We will Definitely be coming back again.

You are better served to stay at any of the other hotels in Wailea other than the Grand Wailea. The pools are fun and the beach is nice however if your family can’t sleep then the kids can’t enjoy any of it. There is loud music playing every single night at the hotel and after having asked the hotel if it was possible to turn it down one day and then calling the following night, the music was still loud. The hotel does not care if you sleep. Moreover when asking if there was a shuttle going to the stores nearby the gentleman told me to take an Uber. This is in contrast to the Fairmont who gave my family a ride back to the hotel after we had walked over there to get ice cream. I told them we were not guests at the hotel and they still said it was no problem. We won’t be staying at this hotel again.

We really enjoyed our stay- first time in Hawaii. Hotel is beautiful and we enjoyed delicious food and drinks which were reasonably priced.
The hotel seemed quite quiet so no concerns with access to the pool or pool chairs and we never waited more than 30 seconds for a wrist band.
Some amenities are not yet open. And if you want to do activities such as Luau you need to book well in advance.
This is a great location and many hotels along the beautiful beach path if you want to try something else.
We paid for a ocean view but truly it’s a stretch to say we could see the ocean but instead we had the beautiful view of the gardens and sound of the waterfall, didn’t turn on the tv or music all week!!
I also left a drawer full of possessions including some ID in the room. A beautifully packaged box arrived today at my home in Florida- such attention to detail!
