I booked this hotel in September 2023 for the 2024 labor day weekend event, otherwise known as Dragon Con. I made a lot of calls and got everything planned out because everything sells out almost a year before the following year. Two weeks ago, my trip was cancelled by the hotel after they attempted to charge my credit card for the stay, and it was declined. This was not entirely my fault as my bank sent a new card that I didn't request. However, the hotel called me exactly one time and gave me 8 hours to notify them and fix it before they cancelled everything. It just so happened that on this day I was at a hospital with family and had no service, and then there wasn't a single follow up call or email letting me know that I no longer had a place to stay. I called IHG, the parent company, and they assured me that after they reached out to management that I would be granted another room at the rate I was previously given. So, at their suggestion, I made a new reservation at the now 507$/night (originally my rate was 220/night) and I waited 4 days. Not a single person called or emailed me about it. I reached out again to IHG who then tried to call their front desk of the hotel and then explained that there was nothing that they or the hotel could do for me. Then, I was told that I might incur a cancellation fee for a cancellation that I didn't make. Then, I reached out to corporate regional managers for IHG and explained the full situation and also stated that I love Holiday Inn and its basically where I do all of my vacationing, but that I felt like I was treated like my business didn't matter. However, I just wanted someone to reach out and help me make this better. Not a single person got back to me. I'm very stressed out right, even a week after the initial surprise of my vacation being ruined, and nobody even cares to get back to me over email. I will not be entertaining any IHG again with my business and I warn others to not give them any as well as this could happen to anybody.
This company IHG doesn't care about its customers.
