I have spent 10 days here in June with my family. Really a great place both to enjoy the beach and as a base camp to get to know eastern (and central) Sardinia.

+:
Clean rooms, they tidy up every day. The whole hotel complex is kept clean and gardens are green and refreshing.
Very good food for breakfast and dinner (some of that really delicious such as pasta, fish, chocolate cakes or most ice creams, other food very good). We had half board so I cannot comment on the lunch for full board but we were happy with the offer of the main bar - a choice of simple lunch food (two pastas of the day, sandwiches, salads) if needed.
Great view of the seaside when entering the hotel gate (your first impression is fantastic) and also from the first floor of the main building where breakfast is available!
Overall very friendly and helpful staff, special thanks to: Claudia at dinner, Gigi and Marco at the main bar, Rosita at the beach bar and a number of others.
The beach (private, enough space - at least in June) located in a marvellous bay. You can see a lot of fishes in the sea.
Good bus connection to Arbatax and Tortoli (air-conditioned bus every hour from 7 am till 9 pm - and from 15 June even till midnight) for EUR 1, the bus stop literally outside the hotel gate.

-:
One lady at the reception (Anastasia) not very helpful - for example we needed some basic information on arrival (restaurant, beach etc) and very little was provided. That was disappointing. Perhaps she was new but that is up to the hotel to train her.
Free wi-fi for 4 hours is too little and you cannot track how much time you have spent. But the extra €5 for 24 hours (which you can split over several days) does not kill you and is sufficient to meet your needs.
There is a lot of seaweed on the seabed (the sand on the beach is kept clean) but it is not a big issue, just a little bit inconvenient.

Dear Karel_Vesely
I’m happy to know you appreciated your stay as well we are pretty surprised you disliked a person of the reception staff: the reception girls are always very friendly and prepared to answer all of our guests' requests.
Kind regards from Sardinia

Great beach front, superb pool area, nice staff, good food and drink at reasonable prices - what's not to like?
Loved by the motorcycle fraternity it is easy to see why.
We were part of a group that drove from the UK and this was our destination and we were not disappointed although you do have to pay for WiFi after your first 4 free hours

We stayed here for 4 nights while doing the Sardinia Trail Race. It was perfect. The surroundings are beautiful, we had a lovely, large room with balcony overlooking the beach, the bay and the mountains and everything was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The food was nice too, particularly the breakfasts and the hotel pool was excellent.

Room tip: Choose a room with a view over the bay.

The pictures don't lie - Saraceno is a very pretty place with its own lovely beach and it is well groomed and looked after. The rooms are spacious, and if you picked one with ocean view it is quite enough during the night to hear the gentle waves.

Why only 3 of 5 then? It's not the food; we only had breakfast, which had a huge selection and was fresh and good. We had dinner once, just to try it out, and it was ok, too - a really large selection, albeit a bit bland and with less spices than we expected from the local cuisine.

There's one star gone for some of the staff and especially for the fact that they fenced off one parking deck for several days without any kind of explanation. When a large rally group arrived and parked there it was clear that there are good guests and better guests. One of the men at the carparks was especially unhelpful and waited until someone went in there and painfully reversed to tell them the park deck was full *afterwards*. I did not like the fact that parking the car at a holiday ressort with tons of space would become an adventure. I wasn't even sure I could move the car without help in the mornings, because some days there where motorbikes and other cars parked really close.

The other star is missing because the hotel seems to prefer large groups over couples, in our case bikers. There were German and Austrian motorbikers to the left and right, wherever we went. They could have been anything else but bikers, I am not picking on that; but large groups tend to be noisy and not respectful towards other guests.

I wish I had known it was a hotspot for large groups and that large groups will get better treatment; because while the pictures don't lie they also do not tell you that story.

Room tip: Rooms with a view of the sea cost more, but (if you must stay at the Saraceno) they are worth it.

The hotel is very nice, good, a true Italian style. The outdoor area is great and relaxing. The staff is helpful. I advise you to go with the kids. They have a nice area for the kids. The beach is good and also the seawater.
I particularly didn’t like their HB policy. In the morning – same food, every day. I know it sounds strange, but in Italy (not just here), they have a problem with breakfast. It is not much, you will handle it, but there is not much choice in the morning. My son ended eating bread and Nutella every morning. He was happy, I was hopeless seeing him with Nutella every day. Coffee in the morning is GREAT. Capuccino, espresso GREAT.
In the evening, I did not particularly like the food, but it was ok and fresh, well cooked. On HB basis water and a glass of wine are included. Very good staff in the restaurant and at the bar. Nice views from the restaurant. The bar is sooo relaxing. Rooms are good, nice and very clean. I found my room fresh and nice every day.
It is a good hotel, people are working hard there and I want to thank to all of them.
There is one exception and I have to mention it. The exception has a name: Roberto – the lifeguard (a fat lifeguard???). He is the rudest, the most aggressive person I have ever seen. He is the kind of employee who makes you not to come back ever, even everything else was good and all the other people made your stay so good. I will not say much, just: be aware of Roberto. Management, you should take my comment into account. One single person (I am not sure he is a person) can destroy the entire image of your hotel. Unfortunately, I will always link this hotel with Roberto.
Otherwise, everything was nice and good. I want to mention that everything and everywhere in the hotel area is clean.
