An Autumn break. Arbatax report is a strange mix of a place. On a striking headland it has five hotels, three as one complex in the southern part of the park. Telis is OK with the individual "cottage" rooms of Cottage and Dune around it. BUT, why, given that it is one ownership and inter-related, do they insist on restricting guests to very limited choices of restaurant and bar - if you stay in Telis on its all-inclusive tariff, and spend the day on the "beach" you can't use the beach bars as part of all-inclusive but have to pay for drinks, yet the hotel boasts about its beaches as an integral part of Telis. The cleanliness of the tiled paths and terraces (including the restaurant area) leave a tad to be desire, and aren't monitored to clear slip hazards, especially from falling fruit - we experienced and observed guests slipping on figs and the remnants still being there days later. The food was generally varied and good, with lots of fish. The reception staff were helpful and the reception manageress was energetic and personable and responsive, but the communications with guests about the hotel and events was not great in our experience. The overall park is interesting although the description of "wildlife" is, perhaps, adventurous - a lot of paddocks of donkeys and horses, but also an enclosure of wild boar and mountain sheep and goats and, in the centre, a spa! The first "resort hotel" where I've been asked to pay for refreshing Beach towels! It's OK but could be better - Arbatax could learn from its competitor resort hotels in the Med, Egypt and Caribbean on all-inclusive I think.

Room tip: Go for a junior suite to get space and private terrace.

Dear westcliff,
we are glad you loved the location and the room, the dishes of our buffet and the kindness of the Staff. All inclusive proposal is available only inside Telis Hotel, if our Guests desire enjoy other bars of the Resort they need to pay. Every day Our Staff cleans common areas, but we are inside a Natural Park so sometimes is possible to find some leaves or little fruits. The animals of the Park are all free but in some areas, like the SPA, the paddocks are necessary for the safety of the animal and the humans. If you desire to visit the whole Park, every evening it is possible to do a guided tour for free, with a private guide who describes Guests plants and animals typical of Sardinian flora and fauna. We hope to have the chance to host you again at our Resort. Best regards.

Horrible undercooked pasta, stale bread, noisy crowded dark dining room, people fighting over food, appalling choice of fresh salads and veg, cheap tough meat, dead wasps in the the milk, All inclusive is not including any good food or drink. No cocktails, no fruit juice, mixers watery from the mixer dispenser.
DO NOT GO HERE

I'm currently on the 3rd day of a 5 day half board stay here. The surroundings and the nature is beautiful. The rooms are fine. It's a big resort and nestled in nature. The food is TERRIBLE. Regret paying extra for the dinner or even the breakfast. Today, spoke to the Park Manager, Barbara who was contrite and agreed that food was very basic. Here is what it is:
- Breakfast is three breads, 2 cheeses, 3 cereals, scrambled eggs (cold), poor bacon and one salami. I won't mention the cooked ham, it was horrible. And cakes, 4-5 kinds. No cut up fruits. No fresh or packaged juices (only areated juice drinks). Oh they also had burnt croissants. Everyday. Dark brown or black. And they feel it is fine to serve it.
- they provide forks and no bowls with the cereal. I asked if it wouldn't be a good idea to provide spoons (placed at the diagonally opposite end of the room from the cereal and milk and yoghurt) next to the cereal instead of forks and they agreed it would be. Let's see what happens tomorrow morning.
- Dinner is some salads which was not bad. Two pastas of questionable quality and one or two meats also of not of a good standard.
- I pointed out a huge fly sitting on the pasta. The server mixed the whole pasta with the fly in it! He said it will be changed but as soon as I turned around he served another customer. Maybe it had been changed. On the balance, I can't say for sure.
- bottled water is part of the package and to be picked up at the restaurant. Yet EVERYTIME it is a big discussion (me in English and staff in Italian) on why I can't take the cold water served from the cooler and why I want bottled water at room temperature to take to my room. Every time.
- Almost none of the restaurant staff speak anything but Italian.
- Don't bother with the wine which is part of the package. Both the red and white (served from a dispenser next to the beer) are the same temperature as the beer.
- Three unheated pools.
- Ducks in the swimming pool. Very cute. Questionable in terms of hygiene (but happy to be corrected and told it is fine if that's the case).

Am I recommending this place? No. Unless you don't really care about the food. But there is no kitchen with the rooms. We asked for a kettle on the first day. We were promised it next morning. We are on the third morning. No kettle.

I think I'm going somewhere else next time. Pity, it looked good in the pictures and some people gave it really good reviews. If the food was better I probably would've given it a better review.

Dear Mrs Arindam M,
Thank you for sharing your opinion with TripAdvisor community. We are glad you appreciated the overall complex and the beautiful surroundings. We are sincerely sorry you did not appreciate the dining experience: our Chefs and Waiting Staff work hard every day to provide the best choice of international dishes that accommodate our international Guests’ tastes. We would be hopefully glad if you could give us another chance in the future to prove you the quality that has always set us apart.
Kind regards,

As Sardinia being the last stop of our European vacation, we were extremely disappointed, disgraced with the entire resort in general. This is rundown resort that hasn't been taken care for in awhile, its antiquated and lifeless. If you've experienced all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, I warn you DO NOT COME TO THIS ONE!! ... the staff was friendly and tried their best to make us feel comfortable, the only down side is that most of them didn't speak much English at all. The rooms were clean, a bit small and very very antiquated. The pools were clean, beaches were clean but very small , you're better off takin the Taxi boat at €5 a head to head to a much sandier and spacious beach. Now.... to the most disappointing and frustrating part of this "resort"... The food was a horrible, breakfast was the same everyday, soggy eggs, cheese and ham uncovered so there bugs all over it , breads and pastries were disgusting , and worst of all they served canned fruit for the yogurt bar.... Dinner was a little bit better but not much better they didn't have much variety and it seemed like they used the same vegetable ingredients for just about every dish. Didn't really served any meats at all either of sea food for that matter . Food was very frustrating specially when there's children involved. If you wanted to go to the a restaurant or bat is was very over priced for the quality. All in all this place was a disappointment, we wanted to leave by the first night, I don't recommend staying there an entire week. This place def put a damper on our European vacation... very sad .

Buyer beware. Wasps at breakfast, rats at dinner, rat fecies on terrace, terrible customer service, uncomfortable beds, not "all inclusive", cold pools, cold spa at extra costs, poor communication, staff come first the customer second, busy restaurants, no all inclusive at bars on beach, no air con on bus, noisy air con in rooms, luxury price = 2 star resort. Costs extra to get to sandy beaches. Do not book with Secret Escapes nor Sadutar Holidays. This is poorly managed, poor quality of staff, could be so much better.
