Spent 6 nights here - chose the hotel for its reputed studio apartment style rooms since I had a long stay. Overall I had a mostly decent experience - but some things were hit or miss.
The rooms are a great size - small kitchenettes with stove, full fridge, toaster, and microwave. They have a searing area with desk and couch. And large windows with great views! Prices are pretty decent here as well.
Some of the staff were excellent - Ryan especially (I hope I got his name right). On my 3rd night, there was no running water in my room bc of a burst pipe or something and he got me into a much better room right away! But there were a couple that just didn’t want to be bothered and didn’t even try to help.
When I checked into my first room, it had a huge wad of hair in the toilet, wet dirty towels in the sink, and the shampoo/conditioner bottles looked like they had been ripped off the wall - staff didn’t care - told me to just “put the dirty towels out in the hall” - lol ok.
In the first room I had, the kitchen was poorly stocked - there were plenty of plates but only one giant soup pan so I wasn’t able to do much cooking. The second room I had had a much better stocked kitchen but the coffee pot...Spent 6 nights here - chose the hotel for its reputed studio apartment style rooms since I had a long stay. In the first room I had, the kitchen was poorly stocked - there were plenty of plates but only one giant soup pan so I wasn’t able to do much cooking. The second room I had had a much better stocked kitchen but the coffee pot was awful and there were no coffee amenities. But at least it was completely clean. The ice makers don’t work well at all - and they’ll give you ice at the desk instead if you want.
In my first room, there was a ton of construction going on outside that would start very early - very noisy. But my second room was much higher up and much quieter with a lovely view of the Longfellow Bridge.
The hotel has a bar that sometimes serves light bites and even has a few beers on tap. They serve breakfast every morning - it was mostly the same every day - eggs, two types of sausage, potatoes in various forms, and some sort of sweet offering like pancakes or French toast. As well as fruit, cereal, toasts, yogurt and a waffle station. It was pretty decent.
Fantastic location near MIT and convenient access to the trains. All in all I’d stay again if I needed a long term hotel in the area.More
