The room was excellent in almost every respect. The shower, TV, bed, etc., were all top notch. The price we paid was commensurate. Some of the amenities of lower-priced hotels were missing, such as in-room refrig, microwave, coffee machine. The biggest disappointment was the wifi - it was so slow as to not even meet the FCC's old obsolete 25/3 definition of broadband.More

Great location great staff rooms are super clean. I will stay here as often as I can, except when the rates go crazy for graduations and seasonally. I love the windows open to the outside, and I love that for a hotel. It feels less touristy and quieter than most.

We will never get over it. The Charles Hotel was the perfect home for our wedding weekend on December 31, 2022. No one could've taken care of us, our family, and our friends better.
From the months prior of expert planning with Jennifer Halpin, to the day of execution, on a holiday no less, with the most pleasant staff... we were blown away. The reservations team, including Ariana Ricci, was responsive and kind while handling our large, ever-changing, room block. The driveway team, including Zafar, Phil, Fauod, German and Dan, were prompt and extremely helpful with our CARTS full of belongings. The front desk team, led by Sumit Tuladhar, was so attentive and efficient. And then the banquet team, led by Jim, ... is just the best of the BEST. Patti, Stephen, Tim, Wilson, Edin, Mostafa, Rob, Said. It took a village, and family, to pull this wedding off.
And a shout out to one of the wedding banquet servers, Pam. She was there at the wedding Saturday night until 12:30am, and then we saw her at 10:00am when we went down the breakfast. And she was smiling and gushing about our wedding. First of all, what a champion, but to do it all with the biggest smile... it truly made our day the next day.
We can't say enough.

Son's Wedding New Year's Eve was spectacular!! Jennifer Halpin, Director of Catering was the best! She was incredibly helpful and her expertise and professionalism shone through in our celebration. Our guests have been raving about the food so our thanks to Scott and Danny the chefs. The service at the event was top shelf, especially our server Patti, Guests have complimented the entire team and bar staff. The hotel was incredibly clean and beautiful and the check in and out process was easy and smooth. Front desk staff Sumit, Kevin & Ariana were all very helpful and friendly. Can't say enough about this incredible venue and staff. Our memorable event was enhanced by the service and staff and I'd recommend The Charles Hotel for any event!

Either there was no one staying on our floor, or mine was the quietest room ever. The staff is top notch, helpful at every turn. Henrietta's Kitchen, one of the restaurants was delicious. The property is well maintained, and the location was perfect for our needs.

In my opinion, The Charles Hotel is the ONLY hotel to stay at when visiting Cambridge/ Harvard.
The hotel is elegant and beautiful. Lots of nooks and crannies to sit and read or get some work done, all while having a coffee or tea if you prefer. The rooms are well laid out with a overstuffed leather chair and ottoman, as well as a large desk area and a giant TV that you can view from many angles.
