Amazing. DO THE LITTLE WALK TO Gljufrabui. It is only 15 mins and super worth it. Both waterfalls are glorious and pretty close to the best I saw in Iceland, only behind Mjulagifjur Canyon (which is a much longer hike) and Dettifoss (which is up North). For the South, this is a must.
A beautiful spot with several waterfalls within a few minutes walk of each other. The falls allow for visitors to walk in behind them which looks pretty awesome. There were plenty of people using the well trodden path to enjoy the unique 'behind the falls' perspective.
I never bothered. It looked as though you'd get wet from all the spray and I didn't fancy getting wet. Good though. There are restrooms at the car park and souvenir shop and small cafe too. Well worth a look when visiting the island.
Worth going there and enjoy visiting the waterfall. We took many pictures, and enjoyed the beautiful place..........
If you plan on walking behind the waterfall, wear waterproof clothing! Make sure your shoes or boots are waterproof too! It’s such a fun experience to be walking behind it and you can get some pretty amazing photos and videos! I had a waterproof cover for my iPhone. Loved this waterfall.
Easy access from ring road and you do have to pay for parking. Use the app that’s suggested online or at the parking area.
A gorgeous waterfall which is crowded especially when the weather is on your side. Being fortunate visiting this waterfall whilst the sun was shining and the sky was just blue in blue, the water was creating a picturesque rainbow. Still worth visiting it with the crowd.
