The Frolik Restaurant is located on the fifth floor of the Motif Hotel in downtown Seattle. It’s a bar/restaurant with nice bar-height tables as well as couches in front of four flat screen TVs and a number of regular tables for dining. We stopped by for a late night light dinner on a Tuesday evening. Our server was Christin and she was friendly and attentive. My wife had the wedge salad while I had the crab cakes. The presentation on both was excellent. We both enjoyed our light dinner at the Frolik. The shock came when we received the check and noted a 20% surcharge “retained by our hourly Team Members.” When I questioned the surcharge I was told that almost all Seattle restaurants are now applying surcharges of some kind to cover the raise in minimum wage. Not a good thing! Dropped rating from four to three stars due to surcharge.
