Great Sauna for adults, and great food and rooms very comfortable, friendly helpful staff always pleased to help, Big boot room and boot warmer, pretty close to slopes, handy shop for ski hire in the complex. Free beer and wine with evening dinner. Fantastic breakfast selection.

Room Tip: high up for a better view

Another Easter stay at The Lohmann, two adults and a teenager, this time in a family suite room on the lowest floor.

The Lohmann has everything needed for a most comfortable winter stay including well equipped, clean, spacious, mountain view rooms with balconies or open terrace; excellent, informal buffet style dining with plenty of choice and drinks included; extensive choices for breakfast including omelettes and pancakes cooked to order; children’s club with lunchtime ski school collection by mini bus if requested and the most polite, helpful and engaging staff that I have ever come across anywhere. The whole Lohmann team work very hard to ensure their guests feel welcome. If there are any issues they are addressed instantly with no fuss. While other hotels have refurbished and tried to upgrade themselves and their profits, The Lohmann has successfully stuck to its popular family friendly formula.

There are a few things to bear in mind before making a booking. The Lohmann isn’t a typical Tyrolean style hotel. The bar area is small and functional. The ski school meeting point arrangements have changed, so be prepared for a longer walk if needing lessons. None of these things were much of an issue for us and we wouldn’t hesitate to choose The Lohmann again if we return to Obergurgl.

We booked with Crystal Ski and their Rep team were very friendly. Unfortunately at the moment Crystal Ski don’t seem to be offering The Lohmann for next year’s UK Easter school holidays, 13th April, and their prices for The Lohmann for Feb half term are crazy. I do object to Crystal Ski charging full adult prices for children when they are sharing a room with two full paying adults.

Room Tip: For quiet, avoid the childrens play area Not all floors served by lift Some rooms lack privacy - open, terrace with access to car park

We visited Lohmann Hotel for a skiing trip with Crystal Holidays.
Having read the reviews we were not disappointed.
The staff were some of the best we have ever experienced.Nothing was too much trouble with a smile every day. The Chef was superb explaining the food every day. The food was fantastic with roast meat carved by the chef daily plus other choices. The breakfast was also excellent with egg station and choice of hot and cold.
Wine, beer and soft drinks are served with evening meal all of a good quality.
We had a large room with table and sofa which was very comfortable. No Tea or Coffee making facilities in room, you only have to ask for kettle and cups and they will deliver these to your room.
Coffee and cakes are provided at 4pm daily.

The ski shop attached to the Hotel was very good and we had a 15% discount by pre booking online. You may pay a little than other resorts but skis and boots were this seasons.
We skied to the Ice bar for apres ski drinks then skied back via Hochfirst hotel only a short walk back to the hotel on main road. There is a Cocktail Bar next to Hotel but we preferred Arnold's Ice Bar because it was none smoking.
A short walk to lifts and bus stop for Hochgugl is only 50 metres away. Good skiing area with long wide Blue runs in Hochgurgl. Top Mountain Star bar has the most wonderful views on a clear day at 3080m high. The Top Mountain Crosspoint restaurant at Motor cycle museum serve the best Pizzas,

If you a planning a Holiday in this resort we highly recommend this Hotel for quality Food, amazing Staff and the relaxed atmosphere it creates.

Spent a week at the hotel during Christmas and from our booking until leaving the service was exceptional! The staff simply cannot do enough to make you feel welcome.
Breakfast was amazing and always served with a smile.
The ski hire store was next door (connected to the hotel) and the slopes (ski school meeting point) was literally a 2min walk away from the boot room.
Afternoon tea and cakes (free) were delicious.
The spa (textile free) was small but perfectly adequate after a long day skiing, and was never too busy.
Evening meals were as rich and plentiful as the breakfast.
All in all this was a perfect stay and would not hesitate to book this hotel again.

We have been to Orbergurgl for many years and stayed in different hotels all of which are nice. The Hotel Lohmann is excellent and a hotel I will definitely visit again. The staff were most helpful and friendly. The food was excellent every day. I think it would be unfair to name one member of staff as they were all brilliant. The only downfall is the distant to the lift it is such a shame the bus does not stop here but this will not stop me using this hotel again. Thanks. Rose
