This hotel is well located to the heart of the French quarter and all points of interest there. I really enjoyed the location. The parking attendant/bellmen were very helpful and prompt. Front desk personnel were a bit adroit.
Two things; The AC filter in our room was very dirty. We asked on the first day to have it replaced and two more times after, by the time we left (six days later) it was still not changed.
Second the bath tub drained extremely slow and an average shower left you standing in four inches of water and the next person in the scum. We asked three times to have it fixed and again, six days later when we left it was not fixed.

St Marie is one block off Bourbon St so is close to everything but still quiet. Rooms are large as are the bathrooms and all the beds have recently been replaced and are very comfortable. Air conditioning is excellent. Even street balconies are relatively quiet because they are on side streets. Lovely courtyard and pool area. Vacherie restaurant is in the same building and offers breakfast lunch dinner and room service. Front Office Manager John Marshall Carr couldn't be friendlier or more helpful no matter how busy his desk is. Very reasonably priced for the French Quarter the St Marie overall is a great place to stay with a great staff. Only negative is the parking garage with just one way in and out so give yourself plenty of time for the valets to get your car.

This was our third stay at St. Marie and they did not disappoint. We arrived at 1:30am and they unlocked the gate and took care of our car and luggage with smiles. Room was clean, beds were comfy and the stay was great-super location just one block off Bourbon but just far enough to have serene nights on the balcony. Great place!

We chose Hotel St Marie for the location - same block as Bourbon St ... I've seen some complain about the noise and drunks, but what else would one expect - stay at the Marriott if you want peace and quiet - we don't go to New Orleans to entertain or watch TV - the room is fine for sleeping ... we had an inside balcony because we like the fresh air and the outside ones were taken - we had always had outside before so we could see and hear the commotions of the Quarter ... the room was on the small side but, again, we are only there to sleep ... only complaints I have are 1)parking should be included, though it's easy and the valets were always pleasant; 2) the bathroom had no privacy area and the outside door was a slatted door, probably because there is no inside vent; women don't like the noise and odors of bodily functions that are normally blocked by a solid door ... we'll definitely stay here again as it is much better than the place across the street where we usually stay - working elevator, newer carpets and paint, real beds, and no rodents ... I also liked the idea of having a computer and printer available for checking in at the airport and printing boarding passes ...

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a balcony ...

The room was very nice, very clean, quiet and very comfortable. We loved the bar and grill so much. Happy hour is great! All of the staff, except one, were so helpful and went out of their way to take great care of us. In the French Quarter, and within walking distance of so much. We would definitely stay there again, as long as we an get a great deal like this visit.
