Description: Located on a picturesque corner of the Vieux Carre, Meauxbar is a vibrant neighborhood gem. A typical evening finds an eclectic mix of French Quarter residents, locals from across the city, as well as out of town visitors. Accessible and smart, with a unique worldview, our food and beverage menus are reflected in locally-inspired, modern bistro fare created by Chef John Bel. Our menu rotates seasonally, though some classics remain throughout: Escargot with Shitake Mushrooms and Brioche Toast is a guest favorite. Our Moules Frites in a Pastis Broth with Garlic Fennel Aioli appeals to those in search of a Bistro classic, while our Lamb Loin with Celery Root & Potato Puree, Beets, and a Fig Demi Glace perfectly exemplifies Chef Bel's vision and style. Our wine program is Old World in style with some New World influences and is very approachable. Our core philosophy is centered around the whole dining experience: great food and service, memorable moments, culture, warmth, energy, and a celebratory feel. We want to be a part of our guests' lives.

Not your usual NOLA place! It’s in a residential location and has really trendy modern decor. It’s a farm to table place so menu is a little limited. The food was delicious. Especially enjoyed the fish. Served hot and very tasty. Great wine and service. Would definitely go again!

My husband and I dined there with another couple, and we all we very pleased with our food! Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. The services was very friendly, informative and helpful. I had the gulf fish amandine, which was excellent, both husbands had the scallops and my friend had the duck, which was incredible! We were all very happy with our selections. The salads are wonderful also. The location of Meauxbar is very nice; it’s on the edge of the French Quarter, away from all the hustle and bustle. We would definitely go again if we return to NOLA.

This cozy, intimate bistro is located at the edge of the French Quarter and is well off the radar screen of most tourists. This was one of the best dinners we had in New Orleans, and a nice change from the ubiquitous Creole/Cajun food in the Quarter. If there is a theme here, it is skillful and creative combinations of flavors, masterfully presented (and moderately priced). The cheese board appetizer was enough for 3 of us to share and included apricot preserves, candied nuts, and addictive crispy chickpeas. The smoked duck with sweet potato hash was delicious, as was the black drum fish almondine, and our 11-year-old daughter devoured her gnocchi with crab and coconut milk. Even the desserts are distinctive and memorable—we savored the chocolate torte, which comes topped with coconut sorbet and bits of spicy sesame sticks, a combination of flavors and textures that works surprisingly well. We would definitely dine there again.

Lovely dinner for our Mom's bday! What a wonderful restaurant, and on the "quieter" side of the French Quarter. Right on Rampart St, and we loved it. GREAT SERVICE and WONDERFUL FOOD!
