An old British establishment at the end of the shopping street. We had a room looking out on the roundabout, which turned out to be very noisy (windows didn't close well). The staff was helpfull but nog that very efficient; we saw them cleaning (sweeping) the corridors 2 or 3 times, but our room wasn't cleaned of towels weren't changed (we stayed 2 nights).

the luxury rooms come with the heater, tea/coffee making facilities. We had white curtains in our room and so in the morning the sunlight comes streaming through the windows. It did not bother us but if requested you can get a room according to your requirements.

Room Tip: Luxury room is better than the standard room

A big hotel in the centre of town with a filling station (tuc tucs) and a busy road to one aspect. Noisy on that side.
Rooms were large and a bit chilly. Heaters were available at a price.
Comfortable bed. Bathroom adequate though not as clean s it might have been with slow not water. Minute TV.
Dining room had a very pricey limited menu and indifferent staff.
I travelled in a small tour group

Room Tip: Avoid the side over the filling station / main road

At the end of New Bazaar Road, by the roundabout stands the Windsor Hotel, which appears to be an old British establishment, but i was surprised that it was constructed in 1890. This would be an excellent place to stay in the town center, near all the attractions.

Rooms are very outdated. Extremely cold - had to rent a heater in the reception (approximately 25 DKK) to get through the night. Breakfast buffet is mediocre at its best - definitely the place we liked the least during our Sri Lanka round trip. Okay for one night but would not stay longer.
