I stayed at the Grand Kesambi for 10 nights in a superior room. It’s a brand new resort with a fabulous swimming pool. Incredibly quiet so the perfect place to relax.
Being in Kerobokan, it’s a ten minute taxi ride to all the action in Seminyak. Taxis are cheap- $5 AUD from the hotel to Oberoi St & Seminyak Square. Not many restaurant options close to the resort itself within walking distance. The resort does offer a shuttle but the times weren’t set & it wasn’t always available. This is an area for improvement as consistency is important.
My room was lovely. Ultra modern, two choices of shower heads & plenty of fluffy white towels. Housekeeping were amazing & the room was spotless. The tv was wall mounted & large but I would suggest a few more English tv channels. The choice was far too limited. Also, the safe had no instructions & wasn’t bolted to the wall. Someone could just carry it out of the room!
There was no information folder about the resort in the room so that needs to be addressed promptly. The phone did not have any guide either- not even the simplest things like how to call housekeeping or reception. A bathrobe in the room would have been useful too.
The staff at the hotel are fantastic. They are friendly, helpful & positive. I enjoyed talking to them each day & are the resort’s greatest...I stayed at the Grand Kesambi for 10 nights in a superior room. It’s a brand new resort with a fabulous swimming pool. The area in which I think the resort needs to improve the most is the restaurant. It was very hot in there & fans need to be installed. Prices were reasonable but the portions at dinner time were very small- child size even. I wasn’t impressed with one of my chicken curries-it had dodgy pieces of chicken & bones in it. Toast is on offer at the breakfast buffet but I was charged for (frozen) butter-how ridiculous! Fruit should be part of the buffet each day & perhaps some cereal too. Dishes should not be left open without a lid as this is a hygiene concern with flies landing on the food.
Would I return to the Grand Kesambi? Probably not. It’s a bit too far away from the shops & restaurants for me. Perfect for people who like to escape the hustle & bustle or spend plenty of time in a modern, air conditioned room.
