Signature pottery, great coffee cups, Free popcorn. There was a nice couple playing bluegrass music while we visited on a Sunday You can find them on the Craft Loop just outside Gatlinburg
This is my favorite pottery shop in Gatlinburg. I love the maple leaf that they repeatedly use through their pottery. I was interested in a piece but the one they had on display had glaze dripping over the leaves. A nice woman went in the back and brought out all she had. Very nice quality work.
We make a trip every year and we always stop in to Alewine's. We started collecting a piece (sometimes 2...) a year, and every year I swear I'm just going to stop and look and we have enough. Every year I come home with another piece. Just beautiful pieces, friendly family service, love the performances outside and my son loves to watch Mr. Alewine sit and make pieces right in the shop. It's a must stop in Gatlinburg!
This is approx out 10 time here. He has great pieces with great prices.
We started collecting a certain color pattern right off and are still buying those color pieces.
Haven't found this style anywhere else besides why would I but a cheap replica when I know where the resl thing is.
Rated 10 out of 10 for me and my wife.
I love Alewine Pottery. Their store in the Arts and Craft community is really neat. On certain days they have live music which is really cool. Their store is huge and offers so many unique items. I love collecting different mugs, which they offer in many different shapes and sizes and also designs. I also purchased one of their bowls with a whisk for eggs, it works so well and is a beautiful piece of art. I have also never had a problem with any of their pottery, it seems to hold up very well to washing and use.
I can not express how pretty the pottery is and the prices are very fair. To have an item in your home that is useful and pretty and gets noticed by everyone who visits is all a bonus. The staff is kind and helpful and you may be lucky enough to visit on a day the band is playing. Just a friendly, homey place to visit.
