We returned for Christmas this year. This property never disappoints. The suite is very spacious and very clean. The mattresses and pillows are extremely comfortable. The staff are wonderful. Each person from front desk to breakfast is extremely friendly and helpful. This is the best breakfast we have encountered at any IHG property. I highly recommend staying here. And we are looking forward to returning in the future.

A bunch of small issues pile up to a lot of annoying. First 1 of our 2 room keys did not work, had to wait on check in line again for new key. The facility cannot accommodate a capacity situation. Not enough parking for a full house.

At breakfast, we waited a whopping 20 minutes just to get into the food room. Forget that there was no way enough seating for even a quarter of the hotel guests. Several times the hot water for tea was empty. Breakfast was ok, but I've seen better at competitor establishments.

The pool is a so small it's a joke. Yeah the slides are fun, but the kids wanted to swim too. The shallowest part was over my four foot, seven year old's head. Not to mention they ran out of towels. Again, not very good service to not have towels at the pool.

We were able to use the other pool in the HIE affiliated resort next door. That one too started at 3 1/2ft but at least it was a little bigger. Both pools were so murky you could not see your feet. Another guest could not find their sinker toy. Even with goggles, it took me 5 minutes of diving to locate the toy. Little blue pebbles line the pool and hot tub. My son had fun collecting these as dozens of them came out of the walls and sat on the pool bottom. He liked the chunk of concrete filled with pebbles he found resting on the seat on the hot tub. In the shallow pools around the slides there was lots of dirt or grit clustered on the ground under the water.

Knowing the hotel would be at full capacity you think there would be enough personnel to handle the place. The main lobby stairs were filthy with footprints. The stairs to the room floors were embarrassing, with dried up drink spills, food wrappers and white junk that looked like wall material.

There was a couple activities planned by the hotel. Of course this posting was hidden on some board passed the pool entry, like anyone walks passed the door to nowhere. The bird show was an hour later than posted. When I asked the front desk to read the posting they didn't even have a copy, or weren't willing to share it with me, apparently they wanted me to walk down the dirty lobby steps. The other event was rock climbing at the nearby sports store. The posting stated times 10-12. Upon arriving at the store, the times should have read 11-12. Although the manager was very annoyed with the hotel for the incorrect info, they did allow my son, and the other children who arrived to climb.

The Holiday Inn seems to dislike tea drinkers. After breakast there was no hot water or tea bags available, although coffee is there. In the room, there were several coffee servings and just 2 tea bags. Again, just another annoying thing to deal with.

The keys, the pool, long lines at breakfast, the dirt, the tea discrimination...definitely don't need to stay there again.

Pro: close parking, front desk was helpful, breakfast was outstanding, hotel is fairly new, quiet, bedding was nice. We had a room that looked over the city which was really nice.
nice pool area,fast elevators
Con: Housekeeping was pretty bad, the 2nd day there, they didn't do much to the room, which that is ok, but the 3rd day, they didn't even get the trash and we had to get
coffee from the front desk.

Room Tip: high room, looking over the city

Honestly one of the best hotels in the Gatlinburg area! The hotel looks neat, clean and up to date. Lobby and grounds were always clean. Front desk, and housekeeping area always greeting and smiling. Staff is simply great no matter what part of the hotel you’re in! Breakfast is a plus and if you have the kiddies, the water park is an added bonus which you just cannot go wrong with. The hotel is just up the hill from the downtown strip, close enough to walk everywhere, yet far enough to not hear anything and have a nice restful night on that comfortable bed.

We enjoyed a nice long weekend In Gatlinburg, and this hotel was the perfect place to unwind. I would recommend these accommodations to anyone traveling to Gatlinburg.

For starters, it's tucked about a quarter of a mile away from Parkway (the Main Street where everything is located), which was amazing. We were conveniently located to everything we could have possibly wanted. Even the 0.8 walking trail at the Sugarland Vistor Center is only a mile or so away. The only place we drove to was Pigeon Forge for Hatfield and McCoy Dinner Feud, and Laurel Falls to hike. All food, and activities, are located a few blocks away. I really enjoyed that aspect.

Being off Parkway also provided us quiet at night. Parkway is CROWDED, and noisy, even in the wee hours. Being a short distance away made for a great night sleep. We only heard 1 ambulance each night.

The hotel grounds are well kept, as was the lobby and our room. The breakfast was bountiful with lots of choices. Our room was clean, and the bed was comfy. We stay in rooms half this nice for double the price. And, parking is free, and a nonissue. The lot is large, and there's also a garage. There pool was nice, and the fitness center was clean and had nice equipment.

Really, there was nothing to complain about at all! We really enjoyed ourselves, and will definitely stay here again when we come back!
