I have been coming to Gatlinburg every April for the last 8 years and always stayed at the Fairfield Inn at Traffic Light 1 since I am lifetime platinum with Marriott. In 2017 when I stayed there I was informed they were losing their affiliation with Marriott so I began looking at other options. My teammates are older and not in to walking too far especially up hills so the new FFI and new Hampton Inn are not suitable. Courtyard by Marriott is very expensive and no free breakfast.
Just checked into my room at the Holiday Inn Express and it is fabulous. Very spacious, has microwave, fridge and Keurig coffee maker and a safe big enough for my laptop. Front desk staff was very friendly and managed to secure a King room for me well in advance of the guaranteed check in time. Charging ports everywhere for electronics and a flat panel tv that accepts an HDMI cable so I can watch Netflix from my laptop on the big TV.
I think I have found my new home in Gatlinburg, will be sure to let all my bridge friends know.More
