Although a very sad place to visit I will visit every time I am in New York to pay my respect. Such a moving Memorial! Get the audio tour.

A fitting memorial and museum to those who lost their lives that fateful day.
I suggest you start by watching the short film upstairs near the cafe before heading down to the rest of the museum.
Plenty to see so give yourselves at least 4 hours preferably longer to take it all in. There are lots of things we were not aware of, not just about 9/11, but also the bombing of the WTC several years beforehand.
A ‘must see’ when visiting New York.

My husband and I had tickets to the 10:30 tour. It lasted about an hour and covered the highlights. We had lunch in the cafe. Then returned to explore further. Spent more than four hours. Fascinating displays. The voices of those who survived recounting their experience was chilling. If you are in NYC even for just one day, stop by.

Such an emotional experience. I found the museum to be very personal to the victims whilst explaining the events that occurred. There is a picture of every person who died in the attacks, there is a room where they read out the names, show a photo and say something about them.

It is impossible not to feel overwhelmed by the tragedy and the museum makes you remember the individuals.

The museum is below ground set under where the original towers stood and where the memorial fountains now stand.

It is worth a visit to pay your respects.

We came early in the morning as we heard that the queues can be long, there’s the two infinity tree, the survivor tree, the memorial is very emotional just a heads up
