Description: Barking Crab is a landmark Boston seafood restaurant celebrating our fifteenth season. Located on the Fort Point Channel in Boston's Seaport District, The Barking Crab features fresh crabs, lobsters, and day-boat fish brought in each morning. We feature traditional New England fare served in a funky urban clam-shack setting. We have a full bar including over 15 regional micro brews, cocktails, and an approachable value-priced wine list. We are family friendly and a short 2 minute walk from the Boston Children's Museum. Other area attractions include the Institute of Contemporary Art, Harpoon Brewery, the Harbor-walk, Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, and Boston's Financial District.

Brilliant and friendly service matched with excellent food. The choice is super. The seafood all very fresh and well presented. I would highly recommend this as a top venue. Best meal in Boston on vacation and we ate a lot of good food. Music is loud...but hey your on holiday and adds to the atmosphere. All in all, just superb.

Very low key sat at a communal picnic bench
Right on the water. Actually asked a policeman on the street where to go and he sent us there
Our server was lovely ( with that awesome Boston accent !!)
Had a cup of chowder and shared an order of steamers and the Venus a combo of lobster and crab legs. Plenty to share
It’s was scrumptious!!!
So fun for families and large groups

Crab cakes are yummy.
Crab dip was good.
Fish and chips were yummy.
Clam chowder was the best so far.
Fried shrimp was too pricey only 6 shrimp and small portion side.
Atmosphere was great with fun views.

Bar was closed for a private party but the seating area was open. Seated at a picnic table that we shared with other people. Mussels were great! Wanted more bread to soak up the juice. Crab legs were pricey but good. Fish tacos (3) were good and crab roll was okay. Good place for a casual meal.

We stopped by the barking crab because James hooks was closed. Grabbed a seat in the bar and just had a couple beers and traditional lobster roll. Food was fine (not great, not bad) and beer was cold. View was nice and the atmosphere was happening. BUT THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE! This was not we are busy and overwhelmed service, this was not just bad service, this was one of those times that you remember the rest of your life. This is that place when you are sitting around with friends and talking about best and worst restaurant that will show up on the bad list because of the service. This that place that when someone says I am going to Boston what should I do. This is the place you say, “well let me tell you where not to go”. Just my opinion
