I narrowed down my search to this particular neighborhood in Boston (centrally located and adjacent to the Boston Common) and chose this particular hotel based on reviews. Not only was I not disappointed, but this hotel knocked our socks off!

I was given a corner room on the 18th floor in response to asking for a room that was suitable for proposing marriage. The panoramic view of the Boston skyline from our room was breathtaking, and we were perfectly positioned immediately above the Boston Common (which was decorated and lit up for Christmas). I really felt like the staff treated my request with importance and enthusiastic support.

I was contacted prior to my stay and asked to provide a photo of something important to me. When I checked in, not only was the photo on display but the room was specially decorated with some extras to go with my photo. The photo I provided was a picture of a card I wanted to use to propose marriage -- a plate of drizzled chocolate and fresh flowers was custom-made to recreate the picture, and depicted a female proposing marriage to another female... it was so nicely done and completely unexpected. There were also rose petals leading from the door to the bed, and rose petals arranged in a large heart formation on the bed. In addition to all of this there were chocolate dipped hearts decorated very romantically, champagne, and edible fruit displayed artistically. I've never had any other hotel work so hard to go the extra mile. It was a magical experience.

The room was quiet and felt very private. Lighting was unique and perfect for relaxing in bed at night while gazing at the view. The bathroom was very modern and the shower had fantastic water pressure. The furniture, bed, window coverings, and wall decorations appeared to be new... as did everything in the hotel (lobby, hallways, gym, etc.). Top notch amenities.

I was surprised that free wi-fi is only available after signing up as a Kimpton Karma member, but the Raid the Mini Bar card is an excellent benefit and well worth being a member.

Customer service was warm, friendly, and professional. Upon arrival, the valet offered to keep our car out front while we checked in without charge (and didn't make us feel at all like we needed to rush or were inconveniencing him). I felt like the charge for overnight parking was really high, but I don't live in a big city and parking is definitely at a premium in Boston so I didn't shop around for a parking garage and I assume the fee was in-line with all hotels in the area.

Both check-in and check-out were easy and efficient. Every time I left or returned to the hotel, front desk staff welcomed me warmly. I only called the front desk once to find out what the hours of operation were for the gym -- they answered quickly and had the answer on the tip of their tongue.

The hotel is very unique and the experience was unforgettable. I'm now sold on Kimpton and I'll definitely look for Kimpton hotels wherever I travel. And I'll definitely choose this hotel for any future trips to Boston! This place is a must-stay.

Room tip: Higher floors have better views and less noise from the streets below, corner rooms have the best views

I was booked at the hotel by my company, HQ'd in Boston, for the annual company holiday party and meeting for two nights, as it was a 10 minute walk to the office. Coming from NYC, I was familiar with Boston, but my first time at a Kimpton property. Very centrally located and unpretentious! I was really pleased!

Upon arrival, I was greeted by Arnaldo and Andrew at the front desk. Very professional, friendly and took care of me. My room was not ready upon check-in, as I had made a personal request for a non-pet room prior to my arrival, due to my allergies. (The hotel is pet-friendly). Checked my bag and went to the office.

When I returned that afternoon, I was placed in a lovely room on the 13th floor with a fantastic view of the Boston skyline from the famed "Citgo" sign to the historic Revolutionary cemetery across the street. The room was quiet, clean and the added touch of a video on the television of a fireplace was a welcome feeling! A thank you to Arnaldo for providing me with the yummy cupcake and a bottle of wine along the the handwritten note welcoming me!

The next evening, not knowing the city, I asked Liz at the concierge desk for a suggestion for a nice dinner. She was very attentive and with a great smile. She suggested Teatro down the street across from the Common. Wonderful choice and did not break the bank! Thanks again!

The free wine-tasting happy hour was a welcome treat after a day of work, and it was nice to learn about new wines.

Thank you for a lovely stay, and when I come back to my company's HQ, I will definitely return and stay at your property.

Room tip: Higher floors facing Tremont Street have views of The Common, Skyline

This is one of the best girls I've ever stayed at. I've been here twice, both times have been a pleasure. I love the location of the hotel. The staff is always welcoming and very helpful. On the second occasion, we stayed on the top floor, on "Cloud Nine" it offered amazing views of the city. Would definitely stay here again!

Nine Zero has some of the friendliest staff members I've ever encountered. Warm, welcoming, and with genuine smiles. From the head of the valet team (and his staff) to the front desk staff, to the housekeeping staff, and the room service staff. Absolutely a pleasure! Fabulous location at the top of the Boston Common with the Park Street T station (subway) about a 3 minute walk away. Lovely and chic, the decor is trendy without being too much so. Small and intimate, maybe 10 rooms to a floor. Comfortable beds and great water pressure in the shower. My room was a skyline view room on the top floor (the 19th floor), so I had a gorgeous view of the Common and the Park Street Church. I could see people skating on the Frog Pond on the Common. Room service breakfast was delivered very quickly and hot. The head of the valet staff is a delight, and extremely helpful. Lovely staff all around! My room was very quiet, and in fact, the entire hotel is quiet and relaxing. Great restaurants nearby, and the theater district is a short walk (maybe 15 or 20 minutes), but the Orpheum Theater is right around the corner. Safe location and well lit. They have turn-down service with chocolates! Become a Kimpton Karma member for perks like free wifi and a $10 credit for the minibar. The Nine Zero knows how to make a guest (including four legged ones) feel welcome!

Room tip: Book a skyline view room for great views.
