Great location one block from the T & walking distance to several great restaurants. Oh, & the Prudential center if you're into shopping. Room was clean, pleasantly decorated & comfortable - a little small, but about what you'd expect in an older building in a big city. Some people might be put off by the automated entry & check in or the maid-service-by- request only, but that all worked great for our stay. When I go back to Boston, I'll return!

The good: excellent location, free wifi, air-conditioning - though 74 degrees Fahrenheit on the thermostat feels more like 64 degrees Fahrenheit.

The bad: Incredibly unprofessional management. Anything that goes wrong is the desk attendant's excuse to remind guests that this is a "limited service hotel." Examples: housekeeping doesn't come at all one day and on another day ordered me to vacate my room in thirty minutes or else forfeit service, the freezer in our unit was unusable because of its strong dead-fish odor, the most basic breakfast items ran out before 8 a.m., the coffee maker broke, filthy mold thrived in the shower, disgusting laundry area had hairs trailing out of the dryer.

The summary: My best guess is that this is an investment property. When I asked one desk attendant if the hotel was for sale, she declined to answer. Two desk attendants, who I asked at two different times, refused to tell me who
owned the hotel. A third eventually gave me the name of the realty company that manages it. So much went wrong during our five day stay that a desk attendant did graciously give us a rate reduction. It seems that the idea is to keep the property full, spend as little as possible on the infrastructure and build good will with unlimited granola bars.

Dear Guest
Thank you for leaving feedback for our hotel and I apologize for the delayed response. I'm glad you enjoyed our location and amenities. Our model provides services that many hotels upcharge for - things like wifi, movie channels and telephone calls in the USA and Canada are all included at no extra cost. However, there is no excuse for a front desk attendant to react in a despondent way - ever! As a small Inn we do our best to invigorate our staff to go beyond what is expected of them. Historically they have! I truly apologize your experience was not as we would have intended. Let me assure you that your stay was atypical and that we have been responsive and reactive to this review. Some staff changes have been made and each member of our front desk group has been provided with additional training. As part of hotel's upper management team, I would very much like the opportunity to speak with you personally regarding your stay. It is my wish and desire that every guest be wowed by their experience and desire to return to us every time they visit Boston. Please allow me the opportunity to follow up with you personally.

Sincerely,
Keith Beardsley
Director of Operations

We love inns better than hotels, but this one was a little strange. It was in a really good location, but for us the room was too warm, the bathroom was a little cramped and there were few amenities in the room to which we have become accustomed. We had full access to drinks and snacks downstairs; however, they ran out of milk for the coffee and cereal, and the girl in the office was by herself and had a boot on her foot. She said she had to go across the street to buy more milk "in a minute." People were waiting and just made do. It was within easy walking distance of many restaurants, tour boats/buses and shopping, and one of the guys in the office gave me a great list for eating out even though we didn't need it. It was a little of a pain to get into with a fairly long code to get in the front door and another one to get in your room. I wanted to love this place, but it was just ok for me.

We are so sorry that you didn’t love our place! Most people love the coded lock system but we are sorry that you did not find it convenient. We hope that you will give us another chance in the future so we can exceed your expectations!

We typically look first for accommodations that include a kitchenette. That is how we came across this inn. Couldn't have been better. Great location. Very comfy and quiet. Well appointed kitchen. Auto checkin and checkout, but staff is available if you have any needs. One bit of advice if you are arriving by car. DO NOT leave your car parked on the street for even a moment if you can not legally use the meter. It is permit only after 6 pm and in the time it took us to bring in luggage at 6:05 we received a ticket. Most kindly the staff at the front desk refunded us the price of the parking ticket.

Thank you for your 5-star review! Parking can be a challenge in most cities but we do our best to provide options on our website and also our correspondence prior to guest arrival. We do have several spaces reserved to offer our guests but these are at an additional cost and are provided on a first come first serve basis. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future!

Loved, loved, loved this boutique hotel in Boston's Back Bay area. From the moment we pulled up, we knew it was special. It's a brownstone building that looks nothing like a hotel...you feel like you're pulling up to your own apartment. Once inside, open the door to your room prepare to say "Wow!" Every small detail has been attended to, from the bedding, to the decor, to the fully stocked kitchen with dishes and coffee maker, and full size refrigerator. The bath products were delectable, the view out our window was of other neighborhood brownstones, and the place was quiet and peaceful/restful...never heard a sound from any other room. The staff is fabulous, and they serve up a lovely breakfast in the morning downstairs. Convenient -- yes! The "T" station is just moments away, so you can get anywhere you want in the city very easily. Can't wait to stay here again!!! Oh, and pricing was very reasonable, compared to other Boston hotel possibilities -- we got an excellent deal!

Wow! Thank you for your amazing 5-star review and for noticing our attention to detail in the rooms. Our designers spend a lot of time perfecting and updating the Inn. As a smaller hotel we love being able to focus so much of our attention on the guests and the property. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future!
