Nice room with nice bathroom and more space than in other Boston hotels. Nice location, very close to the North End and its many restaurants, some of which are now better than before, and also to the Boston waterfront.

Like many of the other reviewers have said this hotel is very well located. It is in need of restoration but, more than that, they need to improve the training and quantity of their staff members. We arrived at 10pm and had booked a suite but when we got to our room, it was just a regular king room. Very dated and grungy. We didn’t say anything that night as it had been a long travel day. The next day, as we were out sightseeing and our son was having a rest in the room, the manager came up and called four times confused as to why the room was occupied. Long story short, we had been given the wrong room type the night before. When asked if we would be compensated in any way for the error the answer was “no”. There was no apology, nothing sent to the new room as an opportunity to make things right.

The staff don’t look up as you pass their desk, say hello, and because check in and out is automated, there is virtually no interaction with anyone. We went to the restaurant once for a late night meal and though the service was excellent, the food quality wasn’t great. I tried to call room service for breakfast on 4 occasions but no one answered. Then called the front desk who also didn’t answer. I suspect that this hotel is seriously understaffed. Also there was only one elevator working so that problem is not yet resolved.

In summary, this is a 3 star hotel so if you adjust your expectations and the price is right, I would stay here for the location. The suite room we were ultimately given was in MUCH better condition so that’s the only room type I can recommend but it must be priced as a 3 star and then adjust your expectations.

The hotel is in a great location. Staff is nice and friendly. Hotel needs a major remodel but it is spotlessly clean. Restaurant food is okay. The restaurant also needs updating since booth seats are ripped and cracked. There will be an additional charge on the room after the quote of $25 a night for hotel location as well as tourism tax. Keep your receipts for restaurant charges to the room because I misplaced mine so I probably will be unable to dispute charges which were over my actual bill

This is an ok place to stay. It is NOT a 4-star hotel as is shown on trip advisor. Wallpaper pealing and stained in the halls. The wooden rail in the elevator is so chipped, it has more exposed wood than paint. Multiply this times every surface in the place. Deferred maintenance everywhere. The reception doesn’t stand to greet you but rather treats it like a transaction at a 7-11. It’s what you’d expect for a 2-3 star, tops. Fine if that’s what you are expecting.
