Like many of the other reviewers have said this hotel is very well located. It is in need of restoration but, more than that, they need to improve the training and quantity of their staff members. We arrived at 10pm and had booked a suite but when we got to our room, it was just a regular king room. Very dated and grungy. We didn’t say anything that night as it had been a long travel day. The next day, as we were out sightseeing and our son was having a rest in the room, the manager came up and called four times confused as to why the room was occupied. Long story short, we had been given the wrong room type the night before. When asked if we would be compensated in any way for the error the answer was “no”. There was no apology, nothing sent to the new room as an opportunity to make things right.
The staff don’t look up as you pass their desk, say hello, and because check in and out is automated, there is virtually no interaction with anyone. We went to the restaurant once for a late night meal and though the service was excellent, the food quality wasn’t great. I tried to call room service for breakfast on 4 occasions but no one answered. Then called the front desk who also didn’t answer. I suspect that this hotel is seriously understaffed. Also there was only one elevator working so that problem is not yet resolved.
In summary, this is a 3 star hotel so if you adjust your expectations and the price is right, I would stay here for the location. The suite room we were ultimately given was in MUCH better condition so that’s the only room type I can recommend but it must be priced as a 3 star and then adjust your expectations.
